But screw it! Mine's Bossanova, because of 'Velouria' and 'Is She Weird' are two of the best songs ever written.

Probably Surfer Rosa
I find Doolittle a bit too polished. And it's basically between those two. I actually probably prefer more of the songs on Doolittle, but there you go.

The songs on both albums are jaw-droppingly super, but they sound like they're playing live in your living room on Surfa Rosa, which can only be a good thing.
Trompe Le Monde is also surprisingly good, for the RAWK OUT moments we all need in our lives occasionally.

Surfer Rosa was my first pixie love
The first time I heard "Bone Macheen" it devestated It changed everything I had been feeling about music up to that point; suddenly I felt as if Rock Music was just getting started- it was exciting. However, I think Doolittle is the best pixie album. It is the apogee of pixies as a unit. After Doolittle pixies started becoming Frank Black's band. I love Trompe (but it is kind of grown up rock) and I love the surfer joe flavor on Bossa but those two felt more like Frank Black than pixies- to me. When did he start calling himself FB? I remember on Surfer he was Black Francis and Kim was Mrs. somebody or other. Was he Charles on Pilgrim? All pixies albums are stunning.

I love Bossanova, it's so consistent and creates an 'atmosphere' better than any other Pixies album. It's actually incredibly textured and ethereal at times, and The Happening is the best Pixies song ever.
