have a listen if you can be bothered at:
cheers
Pretty much, yes.
You know it's a jag.
In the same way if i was to mention
www.myspace.com/THEpianodentist then that would be a jag. Asking if it's a jag does not make it ok. (In the same way if i was to ask if mentioning www.myspace.com/THEpianodentist was a jag would not be ok).
^ Jag
I thought guerrilla jags were ok
^ This ones alright
Ceci n'est pas un jag
Would've been a good title.
I really don't understand
this whole jag bullshit.
People make music, there are threads and boards for them to publicise this. Surely half the point of this site is to share music by discussing it and bringing it to other people's attention.
The Announcements and Music boards are for, shock horror, making announcements and talking about music.
If someone is deceptive or annoying about this then, fair enough, tell them to get bent. The post is simply someone letting us know about their band, which is not only acceptable, but should be positively encouraged.
Enough of this pouring scorn and squealing 'JAAAAG! JAAAG!' every time someone mentions their stuff.
Wasn't it cleared up
in a previous thread that a Jag is when you pretend to be a fan mentioning a band they happened to see. And so that if you were actually the band being honest then that was alright?
Therefore, the message above is not a jag.
Personally
I think a JAG is a any thread a person starts that contains reference to their own band in the post.
That is why most people put "JAG" in the subject text. It's basically a flag that says "this is about my band so don't click onthis thread of you couldn't give to shits".
^ this
The original post is not a JAG. Therefore I'll check out his music!
well...
...it looks like its not a jag then to be honest i dont use the boards enough to have a hold on the weird etiquette involved.
but i do use them a bit when i see something that interests me.
anyway you dont have to listen, but if you do then cheers.
^ and therefore I was wrong too
about saying it was a jag as a smokescreen for shoehorning in my own jag, which also wasn't a jag, so that's ok then.
Not sure that made sense (Friday lunchtime pint innit).
Pint of what? You've lost coherence!
:)
er has anyone actually listened
to the tracks yet?
I would but myspace is blocked here...Paul Tipler pretty awesome though! Nice one
Not yet. Blocked here too.
although i imagine, given the personnel involved, they're slightly better than the drill-n-pop turn-fable-ist no-tech sampletronic stylings that can be found at www.myspace.com/THEpianodentist
I like!
Especially Oil Slicks and Bastard Son!
Holiday is a bit 'meh' (sorry)
Actually,
Holiday is pretty good on the second listen!
