It's the age old story. In a band, need a new drummer.
Yeah yeah before you all shout i've already posted an add on the other page, i just wanted to hear some other tales of departing drummers. Ours got run over about 6 months ago and while he was holed up in a full body cast, unable to play or have a wank, he must have got to too much thinking. He's now decided to bugger off with his girlfriend around the world for a year.
So, stories of drummer woe hear. And any of you drum types lurking around do please get in touch.
i've never
had problems with drummers... lead guitarists were always my problem...
If Only...
There's fookin millions of guitar players out there. Most of em would probably pay to be in a band...
word of warning
female drummers could get pregnant and leave your band twiddling their thumbs for six months because they're *that* good it's impossible to get another drummer that's up to scratch, sigh...
Our Lex did her last show with us when she was six months gone and almost passed out towards the end, that's hardcore!
Or you could have a female drummer that doesn't get pregnant
and is just a mentalist...
I've not had a baby yet
But I am leaving my bands for about 2 months to travel... lolz.
yeah, but
in my experience 99% are shite and full of themselves...
lead guitarists
i mean...
'oh what would woe say'
I'm a drummer with a tale of woe as I'm fucking off out of the country for six months in August, leaving three bands behind just as 2 of them are actually maybe getting a little bit successful (on radio 1 last night etc) after years of being in fucking England and getting NOWHERE.
I'll come back and they'll have amazing replacement drummers and I'll go and work in a factory lifting metal pipes listening to ''us'' on the radio.
Yeah
You'll get back and realise that the amazing replacement drummer is now in all three of your ex bands. Remember there is only ever a couple of em to share around...
yeah
it's pretty much me and whatsisname, Junior from Johnny Foreigner (only one that came to mind) in the WORLD. Then we're split into thousands of pieces by mirrors and infraradiostuff to attempt to meet demand. Maybe if I bring down the mirrormoleculesplittingcloningsystem I can get back in the bands when I get home.
That's OK, then.
got a demo? myspace?
ta
Aye

not drum problems,
but bass. Our bassist has got off round the world for a year.
Im sure its lovely.
just
hide his shoes... He'll be looking for them for so long, with that vacant stare, that he'll probably miss the plane
Ringo Starr's son
is currently unemployed.
bloody singers and drummers
Both are a pain in the arse.
Always psychopaths or emotionally retarded
^
I would admit to both :-)
The reason why drummers leave the bands they are in......
1- The singer is shit
2- The music is shit
end of.
As a drummer, if you're going to be lugging the heaviest, bulkiest equipment around then you want to make sure it is worth your while. I basically ran a car just so that I could cart my drums around.
So when you're all moaning about how the drummer has left, ask yourself why.
Really listen to your music and ask how it is challenging the drummer or how good the voice is and will it be worth carting all this stuff around so that one day he could get paid for it?
When doing something just for the "love" of it, surely then you have to love the music that you're making no?
Dunno about drummer injuries, I've had 3 shoulder operations and have dislocated them many times so no sympathy there. If you want to drum, you will, if you find an excuse it's normally because your music's shit and he can't be arsed.
im a drummer
thats all
