suggestions needed for music for my mri scan....

I have an mri scan this evening for my knee and just remembered that the letter said I can bring a cd of music to play.

It'll take 25 minutes or so and needs to distract me from any claustrophobic thoughts I may have.

It needs to be loud enough to drown out the sounds of the machines, but it can't make me want to dance/ fidget/panic/ die.

any suggestions?

mastodon

blood mountain

or devo, you can pretend you're a robot or something

or kraftwerk!

hmmmmm

mastodon= paranoid thoughts/want to die

kraftwerk= brilliant but unsettling so both fidget and panic.

devo= dance/ fidget

Remember Knee - BLUEBOY

I Knee-d Direction - TEENAGE FANCLUB
I Wish That I Could Knee You Soon - HERMAN DUNE

etc
etc

.

Making Love to a vampire with a Monkey on my Knee - Captain Beefheart

Cold Knees - Don Cab

Two Knees - Melt Banana

Get on Your Knee's - Kevin Blechdom

You Make Me Weak at the Knee's - Electrelane

Life on your Knee's - Neurosis

In-a-gadda-da-knee-da - IRON BUTTERFLY

or the soundtrack to 'Bring Me The Knee of Alfreda Garcia'

this is brilliant.

definately on the list.

MRI scans

make loud rhythmic knocking noises, which you'll be able to hear even if your earphones are really good, so I'd suggest something relatively ambient and calming which is easy to distinguish from the scanner itself.

(I work in an MRI lab. At least, I do for another 4 weeks.)

expert advice!

thanks! however, i'm tempted by the knee theme. plus i'm not good with ambient and calming music, it'll will probably bore me and i'll get fidgety. my brain will know its supposed to relax and do exactly the opposite.

Bah

When I had mine the best they could do was Radio 4.

the nurse didn;t offer me music, everyone else that day was :(

the loud thuds were nice .

sounded like Matmos LP
