^^ this
Although Hexagram comes close, as do countless others...
be quiet and drive,
definitely. others include digital bath and suprisingly an anniversary of an uninteresting event.
Be quiet and drive is up there...
But i love Headup and Around the Fur aswell. Also Knife Party and Passenger from White Pony.
headup would be better without that tosser
Max Cavalera during the chorus. He's so embarrassing!!
Easily 'Be Quiet and Drive'
although I had forgotten how amazing 'Anniversary of an Unimportant Event' was until I listened to it this morning
"Be quiet and drive" by MILES
It's just so big :)
I also like Bored off Adrenaline - shame the rest of the album was utter pigwank.
It's a floating top 5 of...
Elite
Knife Prty
When Girls Telephone Girls
Digital Bath
Rapture
Too many hits!
Or
When Girls Telephone Boys, for anybody about to get pedantic on my ass.
Haha^^^
Are you serious?! Root, Seven Words, Engine #9. It's a freaking classic!
Adrenaline was wank?
Eh?! I entirely disagree. I agree with whoever said Root and Seven words are badass. Maybe not a classic, but definitely very good.
Nah, Adrenaline was rubbish
It's been so long since I've listened to it (or the Deftones in general, actually ...) that I'm not really in a position to offer any detailed arguments.
However, when I listened to the Deftones all the time, I still thought it was shite. Of the three albums I know (or knew) well it's far and away the weakest.
Adrenaline was great until Around The Fur Got released.
After White Pony, S/T and Saturday Night Wrist were released i realised Adrenaline was toilet paper.
i hate where the music forum is now.
<grump grump grump>
anyway, a list to cheer me up:
1. Lotion
2. Kimdracula
3. When Girls Telephone Boys
4. Passenger
5. Rickets
thats your serious list?
like seriously..theyre your favourite deftones songs EVER?
where.the.fuck.is.BE QUIET AND DRIVE?!
sixth.
Mascara
Adrenaline
was hella fine in its day, but by christ it hasn't aged well.
^ correct answer, contestant no. 6
engine #9
"This ain't no motherfuckin' stick up just pick up the stick up
And watch it roll"
followed by headup.
those songs played live are intense.
sure it has
it's as good today as it was when it came out. are you saying it sounds dated? poorly produced?
it's definetely a product of the 90s, but i don't feel it's dated at all.
Be Quiet And Drive is definately up there
but I think it'd have to be Back To School for me
Minerva
Back 2 School?
get OUT!
But I like that song...
and it has nostalgic value particularly the video version
Back To School
is FU**ING MINT, there I said it......it's heavy as f**k.
That riff on both the inrto and then the verse makes me wanna have a fight.
That one about shove it, shove it, shove it, shove it.
My own summer?
Awesome.
Agreed on Be Quiet and Drive
with mention to Digital Bath
It's gota be between
Passenger
Be Quiet And Drive
Birthmark
Change
for me
....
KimDracula
Hexagram
Minerva
Knife Party
Change
If only tonight we could sleep (A great Cure cover, not just because you can hear me singing in the mob before it starts)
-----
Knife Party FTW!
....
change and be quiet and drive for me.
MY OWN SUMMER
HANDS DOWN
MINERVA IS A TUNE ASWELL
phew...
Elite
Korea
Around the Fur
Be Quiet and Drive
Engine #9
Alot of good stuff there!
Basically...
For me, atmospheric Deftones can't touch heavy as hell, rock the f**k out Deftones, hence Adrenaline and Around the Fur were, and still are, easily their best records.
Plus...
Deftones show in Manchester on their first record with Far, Helmet and Incubus supporting is still my best ever gig. Hence added sentimental value.
Got to be
Knife Prty
Love it.
I completely forgot about
Elite. One of my favourite stomping around while angry songs.
Cherry Waves
Awesome. Otherwise Minerva, Hexagram, Digital Bath are all stunners. Deftones are untouchable when they do the atmospheric shoe-gaze heavy vibe and hopefully Eros will be more of the same
digital bath
silly rabbits
around the fur or one weak
adrenaline is still my favourite deftones album.
passenger
easy
i only have 2 albums by them
but probably Change. Or Knife Party. Or Kimdracula.
Be Quiet and Drive, yes
Knife Prty
Purely for the Muezzin vocals. Live, it verges on euphoric. OH GOD, even remembering it is making me squirm.
DIGITAL BATH
Needles and Pins.
Yep.
Around The Fur...
...and Mascara.
