I have spent most of my day at work listening to his Justified album. My goodness, it's great! 'Cry Me a River' is a stone-cold classic!

This thread is not a joke, nor do I expect it to garner many responses.

I like some of his songs

'Cry Me A River' included. I hate some of his songs. Especially the Spanish sounding one.

That was never my favourite.

I really liked Rock Your Body (if that's what it was called) and to an extent Let Me Love You.

Not on that album but I think Sexyback is a work of brilliance and one of the most innovative and experimental pop records for years. It's just a load of beats and vocal sounds with him singing on top and is ridiculously minimalistic but sounds so much like a pop song no-one noticed.

Exaclty.

FS/LS is an amazing pop record.

have you heard the dillinger escape plan cover?

sounds really similar haha

Timberlake is amazing.

i can't really find the words to describe how much i love him.

i want to be him, but feel like i already am him. but i also don't want to be him, because then i won't be able to enjoy him as much.

just truly fantastic.

I rather like

cry me a river, the videos rather good as well.

He's also a pretty good actor, I've only seen him in Alpha Dog but I was pleasantly suprised.

It sure is

'My Love''s fucking awesome too - I'm pretty sure Flying Lotus played a sample of it when I saw him last night. Plus he's got this weird charm that most massive pop stars don't have that makes you think he's actually okay and not some hyper-ambitious adulterous ex-Disney club freak. Maybe it's because he's not afraid to sing like a girl?

It's definitely a great pop album.

and considering most boy band break-aways don't usually make it this big, it's rather an achievement.

He's the man!

There can be no dispute.

JT

is bloody brilliant. i won't hear a bad word said about him. although... the less said about his collabo with madonna the better...

Or

like Charlie Brooker you could be aggrieved that some pixel-eyed little prick is telling you that he brought sexy back.

I like a lot of his singles (never heard an album though)

Lovestoned is really good, I like it when it sounds like a Sonic Youth melody for a couple of seconds... My Love as well IS A TUNE!

Cry Me A River is a stonecold classic

Sexyback is okay

The is some real shit ones like that spannish one

i didnt see this thread as a joke.his first album is brilliant

i bought his second album a couple of weeks ago but havent had a chance to listen it yet.well only the singles hes brought out anyway and theyve been ace

no shame

in liking Justin Timberlake. I think Lovestoned / Think That She Knows is fantastic, the way it drops off halfway through down to just a load strings, then builds back up again as a different song. Also, he's in (perhaps) the best pop song of the moment, 4 Minutes...

What Goes Around

is pretty awesome. I know that for certain.

yeah, but...

it's basically down to Timbaland though, isn't it?

Dillinger Escape Plan cover 'Like I love you'

it's only available on itunes.

They play it totally straight. It's weird.

This is not a joke.

Really? Link?

I'd love to hear it!

True fact

It's the tune. Apart from some weird, DEP-style noise at the start, it's a relatively straight cover, and it's great.

So, Dillinger can do pop stuff well: can Timberlake shit in a bag on stage and breathe fire? Hell no.

Dillinger 1. Timberlake 0.

didn't he throw his used toilet tissue

or whatever into the crowd?
i love greg puciato, but that's just nasty :(

like i love you

has got THE most bad ass drum beat and snare sound

i love JT

fs/ls is an excellent album (probably a lot to do with timbaland's magic but who cares) and there are some "choons" on justified as well.
JT definitive choon list:
1. my love (if you listen to the album and go let me talk to you prelude into my love it is fucking excellent)
2. like i love you
3. cry me a river
4. sexyback

FINALLY

some love for JT. Awesome pop music. The first half of FS/LS is genius.

And the pairing of Timberland and Timberlake was an inspired idea - I barely have to remember two names when I'm GETTING DOWN.

My love

is an amazing song. Also feeling what goes around comes around. It's just good pop music.

Sexy Back

is one of the best pop songs of the decade.

NO ARGUING

with the man who crafted "Caribbean Queen" and "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car."

I really like him

he's pretty cool. Justified is "a brilliant pop album" but "futuresex/lovesounds" was a bit rubbish.

sexy back cartoon

this makes me chuckle, a lot.

http://a4.vox.com/6a00c2251e185b8e1d00c225264404604a-320pi

great, great song. My wife thinks he's a hot lil dancer. I like his suits.

What Goes Around = brilliant

i love Timberlake

Look everyone i dont just listen to guitar bands

I like Justin Timberlake as well!

Hes average. People just say they like it to look more eclectic. Hes also a massive bellend.

YEAH!!!

FUCK OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINONS!!!!

its true though

go listen to girls aloud, then claim its 'one of the albums of the year'

Both of them make good pop music

Rhianna, she makes good pop music too. It's not music i'll buy or listen to on any regular basis but if I hear it i'll think "oh yeah that's better than whatever shit The Enemy or Scouting for Girls are making".

So I fail to see how appreciating stuff like Justin Timberlake makes it look like i'm trying to fluff out my taste in music. I don't go around flaunting the fact I think Umbrella is a good song. I'm much too busy trying to tell everyone to listen to Johnny Foreigner.

I didnt say you personally did

im just saying in a lot of cases that is what people are doing.

I mean seriously can people not see what an utter tit Justin Timberlake is?

Not really

He seems pretty likeable from what i've seen of him on tv. Tom Meighan and Tom Clarke seem like much bigger tits to me.

Im not defending them though

i hate the enemy. Im just saying hes a bit of a tit, and makes occasionally quite good music, people just go overboard.

I like Girls Aloud too.

And Annie, and Rihanna, and the Sugababes, and some of Britney's stuff.

Pop music is seriously entertaining at the moment.

i genuinely like him

i genuinely don't like some other stuff by some other 'non guitar bands'
i genuinely dont like some guitar bands
i genuinely like some guitar bands

^ this

bellend

you are. Perhaps people actually like a bit of JT, a bit of Missy or whatever. Saying it to look eclectic? Get over y'self boy.
and it's "he's" not hes. It may be Friday afternoon but don't get sloppy.

oops^^

that was meant to be posted a bit further up for that other fella

dont take it as a personal insult

i just find people pretend to like him quite a lot of the time, or overstate how much they like him.

Drop it

I think that you've have found a sample which disproves your hypothesis now.

cry me a river...

is one of my favourite pop tunes of all time
i think the mark of a great pop song is if it can be played acoustically and still hold up

agree with nousername about sexybacks innovation too... not entirely my taste but still appreciate it

justified is brilliant

'like i love you' is just...wow.

JT rules!

Whatever you say, you can't knock the pop!

he's amazing

i don't trust people who don't like him

if i hear the word "pop" one more time

as in the elitist "it's good pop song" as if somehow the implication is that an average song by, i dunno, dillinger escape plan would be better than it or something, i will stab the thread with a toothpick.

would you say life on mars was "a good pop song"? i want you? when doves cry? born to run? i heard it through the grapevine? get off it

nsync did some good songs too

always thought backstreet boys were awful, though.
that nsync one that went "won't you be my girlfriend" was ace.
1 cry me a river
2 rock your body
3 sexy back
4 like i love you
