Hey loyal readers!

This coming may, I shall be posting a GIG BLOG!

I THINK I might be the first to come up with this incredible idea. If so, don't steal it, yeah. There's definitely money in it for me.

Anyway, first up will be a.P.a.t.T; CHOPS and CANAVERAL. Playing the Portland Arms in Cambridge. Here's a fun game for you: why don't you see what venues I go to, put them in a spreadsheet, and come up with some interesting venue statistics? It'll be really good fun! Then you can print the spreadsheet out and colour it in with wax crayons. I'll give a prize to the best entry: usual adress please.

They're all gonna have to be fucking good as they've already enraged me with their wanton use of capitals. YOU BETTER BE LISTENING YOU FUCKS! I'M QUITE A BIG DEAL ON THE GIG-BLOG (GILOG) SCENE!

WELL!

That was some gig! I got there for 8 (LIKE I WAS TOLD TO). It didn't start until 9. I sat at the bar, watching Rangers play Fiorentina. There were lots of terrifying scotts. And indie hipsters with terrifying hair. WRETCHED!

Dis user THERAPYROCK was there. We spoke about dogging. I paid £5 to get in and got £6 change. WRETCHED! I paid it back because I'm an idiot. The bands were noisy and the drummer of the band CHOPS looked like Johnny Briggs' brother (no, the other one), so I liked them. The main band sounded like MR BUNGLE playing SPARKS but ON ACID. Actually, scratch that bit. And the other bits. The first band wore GASMASKS and painted their noses. They sounded like LOVE666 but with less riffs.

I went home and had a cup of Horlicks. Night night! x

FUCK!

Sunburn on your ankles REALLY hurts. Every time I move, it feels like I'm going to shed my legskin. Which would be terrible, as I already have dangerously thin ankles. Last night it was JELLICA - 2 gameboys: 1 plugged in to a box of wires, 1 not. Bleeping ensued. I liked. ACTION BEAT - 'we're the noise band from Bletchley'. Thanks! 6/10. HEALTH: the drummer's a big lad. Apart from him, 3 other people screaming into 245 effects pedals and a keyboard. 8/10.

NICE

Mae Shi, Johnny Foreigner and Lionheart brothers. 9/10, 8/10 and 6.5/10 respectively. Although I only saw the end of Lionheart Bros set, so make that a 7. No. 6.75. That's the formalities over with: I've just got back from golf. 80 after 14 holes then retired due to lack of balls. WHERE'S YOUR BALLS, KID.

:D

"a thumping good read!" - shucksington evening post.

!

LAST NIGHT:

Black lips and white williams. HA! BLACK AND WHITE! I GET WHAT THEY DID THERE!

Anyway, there was lots of drunk kids, a stage invasion, someone sat on the drummer, someone threw the bass drum into the crowd, someone ran the whole length of the venue (at LEAST 10m) to punch someone really hard in the face.

Conclusion: 9/10

FIGHTING WITH WIRE

I forgot to bring a change of clothes to work, so I went to see them in my UNTUCKED work shirt but I also had some TRAINERS, so I was still the coolest person there. The support band were called THE JUDGE REINHOLDS. Despite this they WEREN'T VERY GOOD 4/10. I drank sambucca. One of the fighting with wires songs sounded very much like helmet. Other's sounded like the foo fighters. My friend made a joke about Zane Lowe. He said 'because of Zane Lowe!' we all laughed, even the guitarman. 6

YES PLEASE!

Last night: Caribou/Fuzzy lights/Born ruffians.

Man, that was a HOT gig. My ankles have started peeling burnt skin. They didn't burn in the gig though, don't be ridiculous. Where was the venue, the fucking sun? No. Not it was not. Anyway, my girlfriend and I missed most of FUZZY LIGHTS because we were trying to find spring onions. Two separate Tescos let us down, but the co op finally came through for us. I like to think Fuzzy lights understand. Born ruffians were Canadian and pretty good. A bit like dexys with lots of drum rollingtons. 7.5/10. Caribou: 2 drummers, 1 recorder and some SERIOUSLY BAD ATTITUDES. Actually, 1 bad attitude, and that was me griping about my ankles. 8/10. I preferred them when they were called Handsome Dick Manitoba
