No reason, i'm just being nosey, and also need to know how shit i'm doing in order to give myself a kick up the arse. If you'd rather not say, well, don't. I normally pull just short of £220 a week for forty hours, which i expect is pretty shit seeing as i'm nearly 25, but okay considering my outgoings are only around £90 a week and i have no real qualifications, experience or skills. I'd guess that most people i know pull between £180 & £300 a week.

You are right

it is nosey. Your outgoings are 90 quid a week?Where is your abode?

In a three-bedroomed flat.

It's nice enough. I'm not including food or toiletries in that figure, tbh.

It usually comes out at £680 the month

Thats £156 pw. I only work a 30 hour week though.

Roughly

£130 but then i only work 16 hours. When you look at it like that i do pretty good really.

Well yeah, that's pretty decent.

You must be on £10 an hour+?

Yeah

just under, it almost makes up for my uniform being a lilac shirt with a clip on tie and polyester trousers.

You caught me

i'm a professional barry scott look-a-like.

Really its the post office, selling stamps really shouldn't pay so well but it does.

Currently £0

But before probably ~£350

Got paid £794

Today for the month, pretty rubbish but I am applying for new jobs.

~£1600/month after tax

£100 of that goes straight away on loan repayment, about the same on the pension plan that i'm not really sure why i'm still in.

plus i earn £250/month more on top for label work, although this is going up for the next few months as my workload is going to double.

oh

rent is £585/month which includes gas & electricty but not council tax, which is about £50 a month. it's a bit lower than it should be as i massively overpaid (forgot to claim my single person discount) and rather than give me a rebate they just lowered my payments this year. bastards, i was going to use it to buy a new mp3 player.

that's quite a decent wage.

What is it you do, and what route would i have to go down to maybe get something similar? I thought you did some sort of admin work for local government? Also, how do you get paid for working for your own label, or is it a differnt one, and what is you do, if you don't mind me sticking my nose in?

i do work in admin

it's pretty much an entry level position. local government is generally well paid (at least here), i guess because you don't get bonuses or promotions (if you want to move upwards, you have to apply with everyone else). obviously being in london helps as well.

it's not my label, no. i don't actually have my own label, although the one i work for has a 'proper' staff of myself and someone else and a bunch of peripheral volunteers. i am 'label manager', which sounds pretty grand i spose. basically i am responsible for our online content, mail order, a & r, dealing with any enquiries that come in and lots of production-side issues - artwork, promotional copies, videos etc etc. i'm also going to be taking on a number of industry-side admin duties over the next month, dealing with distributors and PRS and catco and other things i barely understand. fun!

loads

it changes

sometimes a lot sometimes none

Anything between 20 and

80 quid a week, seeing as I only work weekends at the moment. I don't get taxed though :)
