"Out of Time" is clearly Blurs best song.

Apologies for stating the obvious but I was just listening to it and was struck by how great it is. I mean "Coffee and TV", the Universal", "To the End" and "Song 2" make up an excellent top 5 but "Out of Time" is clearly pick of the pack.

On a side note, is it me or does "Music is my Radar" basically provide a template which Foals and their ilk have simply updated?

The Universal or Popscene for me

but this is really underrated.

the universal is very underrated generally i think

it often gets unfairly lumped in with the bad end of britpop and the great escape being considered as part of that. But its such a great pop song, and the strings at the end are amazing.

And yes, Out of Time is also brilliant. I'd through Sing into any blur best song list, but that may just be because of its use in trainspotting.

hmm end of britpop

i don't really think its the end of Britpop - except i would say that Beetlebum marked the death of britpop.

I cant really pick a top 5 - but the 5 most underrated Blur songs are
Advert
Sing
Trouble At The Message Centre
He Thought Of Cars
Trimm Trabb

and possibly Battery In Your Leg

ahhh

Strange News From Another Star deserves a mention...

Damon on Peel Night doing that solo was un-real

battery in your leg

is a brilliant song. love it love it love it

true story

i absolutely love that song.

funny: i saw them three times on the think tank tour, and when playing it live damon would always turn away from the crowd when it got to his guitar solo. bless him :D

I think not seeing Blur at Reading in 2002

and going to watch Audio Bullys instead ranks as the most stupid live music decision I've ever made...

you missed this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5g9l1vw-VQ

possibly one of the highlights of my life

My girlfriend of 3 and a half years and I

basically split up during that Blur set.

She made me leave early to avoid some mythical crush she invented happened at all festivals, and as we turned around Damon sang "THIS IS A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW". And I thought, "Yeah Damon, it bloody well is"

Out of Time

is awesome.

I really like Good Song

out of time is the awesomeness

this is a low gets an honourable mention also

fuck

that is awesome too!!!

actually that is my fave blur album

I'm off to listen!!

Also,

I never understood why Young & Lovely was a b-side. It's as good as anything on MLIR...

Good job my japanese import version has both this and Popscene on it. *Win*

Music is My Radar

is kinda Foalsy I guess but there has been loadsa rhythem led dancy guitar stuff. I haven't listened much to Think Tank so I dunno about that song. My fav albums are Blur and 13 though.

yeah i fucking love it

so busy lately....

such a good feel, and so amazing that they can be so diverse.

I like it

but I prefer The Universal.

I've just remembered the song

Don't Bomb When You're The Bomb

That was quite good.

And yeah, I like the Think Tank stuff I've heard.

umm

no it wasnt.

Think Tank is a good record - its a bit ropey in places but it soundtracked that heatwaved summer of '03 perfectly.

No Distance Left to Run.

Is my personal fav. Great split up song.

Blatantly obvious statement.

Please do not be so obvious in the future.

;)

London Loves, For Tomorrow,

And some of the b-sides like Taste are my favourite songs. Saw them live at the Astoria October 1997 - awesome.

All Blur songs are great

some are just greater than others.

No love for Battle?

Not at all?

yep

very much so

yes

battle is superb

13 is the best album

This Is A Low

is their finest moment

I wouldn't put

'Out Of Time' in my top 30 Blur songs.

lolz x 1000000

for tomorrow.

I nearly

had a fit when those rumours about them reforming came out, as I was too young to see them before coxon left. Probably for the best it never happened, it could have ruined it all. Girls and Boys for me

Caramel

or
He Thought of Cars

advert

food processors are great.

.

</ WHORE if anyone wants to buy a 7" copy of Don't Bomb, we've got at least 5 from when me and the mrs bought some Camden record shops entire stock in a moment of panic/desperation...

this is a low or the universal, i'd say

this is a low: so so underrated.

I wholeheardtedly agree

I love Out of time.

Beetlebum and Music is my radar run it close, but not close enough

"This is a Low" - seconded

Then "Beetlebum", then some of the rest. I really liked "Trimm Trabb" off 13 too.

Didn't like "Out of time" though.

How is This is a Low underrated?

It's the only non-single track on the best of.

He Thought of Cars. Now THAT'S underrated.

I prefer Mr Robinson's Quango,

Stereotypes, Tender, Bank Holiday, To The End, He Thought of Cars, Tracey Jacks....to name a few

Death Of A Party, Bettlebum,

The Universal, Charmless Man, End of a Century, Jubilee, Best Days

Resigned

That's my favourite. Also She's So High, Blue Jeans, Villa Rosie, London Loves, It Could Be You, Globe Alone, Chinese Bombs, Movin' On, Tender, Trimm Trabb, Good Song, Battery In Your Leg...

I'm almost there

I don't have a fave Blur song, juts one from each album - For Tomorrow, This Is A Low, Entertain Me, Death Of A Party, Bugman, Out of Time.

I love Blur so much. They were my first favourite band, and all the music I have gone onto listen to has been influenced by what they made me feel about music.

I also have so much respect for them as like Oasis they had a set formula - all they had to do was churn out the same album ad infinitum and they were made for life. But unlike Oasis they chose not to do. They chose to try something different. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. But you gotta respect them for trying.

Also, since we're on the topic - all nu rave is just ripping off the Cooper Temple Clause

I was having a drunk argument with a guy at a bus stop

He claimed he was a big Blur fan and "All the People" was their best song!

I like Out of Time a lot

but I have favourites ahead of it, namely:

Trimm Trabb
Jets
You're So Great
London Loves
Battery In Your Leg
Death of a Party

Sing

is my favourite - but 'this is a low' is probably the bast thing they ever wrote. I really like chemical worlkd, but hey, I'm getting old...

Out of Time is ok

a really nice tune. But favourites are Sing, Chemical World...wait a minute I'm getting old aren't I?

*sob*

^ SING

I agree

saturday, saturday, saturday and saturday

for tomorrow by a country mile

and propping up the rear...

the universal
this is the low
sing
youre so great
girls and boys (kitch genius befor you start)

oops

didn't think the first one went through...me so stoopid! World without k as well...i'll get my coat...

Great Shout

an amazing song. Its just behind 'No distance left to run for me' though.

Your so great and I love You

not a popular choice I know but its my favourite..

Definitely one of their best

Beetlebum is my choice for finest Blur moment.
