T-une

I was all about Taproot - Again & Again

The best bit of that song

is when you're in a club and you go

"When IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII was in controoool"

"SUUUUUUIIIIIIIICK

and angered
by my FRIENDS extremely cold and
HEARTLESS talking shit behind my back about me"

as soon as i saw this thread

i thought 'taproot'

i djed the other night

i played disturbed, limp bizkit and papa roach. everyone was loving it. i can smell the revival.

God, I hope

a Nu-metal revival is on the cards.

Music needs a bit of pump up dudes with stupid facial hair rapping over some stock metal riffs.......

.........serious.

+ even better the 'exotic' nu metal bands

who experimented with masks (slipknot, mushroomhead) and comedy makeup (mUdVaYnE)

Or properly exotic

Like Ill Nino

Who was that mexican crew?

I think they may have been non- nu-metal though.

they were nu-metal alright.

And - if i'm not mistaken - have just released their fourth or fifth album. Perseverance, eh?

They're gonna be front of the queue

when the revival starts!

it's called 'enigma' too

like there's a great mystery about what it'll sound like

Hi, my name is Alistair and i have a problem:

i own 6 Sevendust albums, 3 One Minute Silence albums, 3 Slipknot albums, 3 Orgy albums, 1 Limp Bizkit album, 2 Mudvayne albums, 1 Union Underground album and 2 Cyclefly albums.

by 'a problem'

do you mean 'the best music collection of all time'?

and the problem is:

you only have one limp bizkit album, and no KoRn albums?

i own

3 slipknot albums, 1 papa roach album, 2 linkin park albums,
(meds you win.but seriously 2 mudvayne albums?!fucking 2?!)

L.D.50 is mint.

And technically i have 3, i just didn't buy the 3rd one :p

Shut it, Papa Roach fan...

sigh

I own 6 Korn albums, 2 Limp Bizkit albums, 3 Slipknot albums, 2 Staind albums, 5 Sevendust albums, 3 Mudvayne albums, 3 Taproot albums, 3 Cold albums, 4 Hedpe albums, and records by Linkin Park, Orgy, Ultraspank, American Head Charge and all manner of British derivatives. I think i 'win'.

RULES

No (more) mentioning of:
Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park
Papa Roach
Slipknot
Disturbed
Korn

Stuff that I'm more likely to have forgotten about/repressed/never heard in the first place plz

In that case

can I give a shout out to Hed PE - Bartender??

"Hey bartender hit me with a double and introduce me to that girl in the bubble"

TUNE

have you got

the one with 'Serpent Boy' on? I did have it but it's dissapeared into the ether.

What a tune that is as well.

"Ain't seen you round much lately"

yeah, S/T is a solid album

"take a look around, you forgot what you came here for..." etc.

:D

I saw that

on your shelf the other week.

YES! YES! YES!

Oh man, I'm getting that on the download tonight!!

Thier 1st album

is awesome.

i own 6 Korn albums too, heh.

I did just donate the following to charity shops though:

Dry Kill Logic
Systematic
40 Below Summer
downthesun
Ultraspank

Fuck, you had it bad

My ventures into nu-metal were few and far between and short lived. I was too much of a punk-pop kid

prior to that, donations included

Ill Nino
Thumb
Defenstration
Adema
Soil
Skindred
Coal Chamber

My collection was a plethora of nu-metal. I entirely avoided the pop-punk movement though, and i did still like some good music

I was pretty much like that

Pop-punk was just a bit too washed out for me.....I had some innner anger, obv.....

^ This

pop punk thread anyone?

Go for it!

I'll hold off

until I've stopped jizzing over this thread!

The repent!!!

and get your self an education in sic-ness!!!

(God.....did i say that? Fuck it, it feels great....)

this is proper brilliant

http://www.last.fm/music/Number+One+Son

"In the following years they released a new album ‘Lessons’ which despite also being critically acclaimed, never recieved the attention of its predicessor. What became of the band afterwards is unknown although it is safe to assume that they split up."

can you say "impressive career in telesales"?

also

i'm disappointed not to make the 'cut' in the thread name. is that because i gave all my nu metal albums to sarky? :(

Sorry!

I've only ever had nu-metal discussions with shucks and pieces. You'll be duly noted for future use!

i used to have a userpicture

on here of my holding a one minute silence album and everything!

Nice

I REALLY need to find my copy of the Trust Company album.

To be guntrip-centric then, have you read the leaked World War Z script? I can't find it anywhere but the screenplay writer (fucked if I can spell his name) is apparently wigging out on the IMDB board

FINE

No guntrip-centric posts EVER

sorry!

i can't get on DiS between 10 and 12. i haven't read it, no. i would imagine JMS would be a bit angry, he's always been the type ;)

no, but Soulfly albums count.

...you can have the two of mine if you like :p

Woah.....

Is that an offer??

Ill take em!!

i'll hunt 'em out.

they may have been ditched at my folks' house. First two albums

Nice!

I never owned the Soulfly albums, but I bloody loved the self titled one...

(dont kill me i love them)

but werent deftones considered nu metal at one point?

Adrenaline, aye

You

could class Around the Fur in nu-metal too.

They shook the tab off with White Pony. But they still released that God awful 'Mini Maggot' track......

Oh God....that video is awful.

THE KENNEDY SOUNDTRACK

LOLZ

i saw them at esquires

with miocene :D

i saw 'em with Miocene

and Pitchshifter.

Bless.

mwahahahahaha!

What happened to miocene? I seem to remember them being the best out of a bad bunch.

they released an

album that flopped. I only had the EP.

not quite

they spent like four years working on this album and it was actually really good - like a metal version of 65daysofstatic. apparently they spent like £12000 recording it or something.

they finally released it, had their first bunch of live dates in three/four years lined up, and then the bassist quit. they spent a year looking for a replacement, couldn't find anyone suitable, so split up. kindof a shame, really.

i threw a twix at them

i missed

oh god now

fucking worst band of all time

now?

surely i meant no?

My favourite bit of nu metal

is in the middle of 'Voices' by Disturbed where 'Mad' Davey Draiman whispers into the mic:

"They never loved you anyway"

Brilliant. What a genius. I think he then electrocuted himself in a chair.

^ i made them

some really corny drawings and gave them to the singer at a signing session. Criiiiiiiiiiiiiinge.

Absolute

MEGALOLZ

What were these drawings of?

and what was his reaction?

it was pictures of

Spineshank's faces but their bodies were those of the female anatomy.

He giggled and gave a look of "dude, you suck. But i'm aware that my band sucks more"

errr...!?!

he thought his own band sucked though.. these nu-metal bands have such esteem problems..

That isn't 'New Disease' though!

I never really liked Spineshank. I need a pop-punk thread to really excel

Now?

Should we save it??

damn was beaten to this video

but I will agree on the pop-punk having seen all the american rejects 5 times live.

All these replys

and no love for System of a Down?!

Suger was an absolute TUNE.

ohhhhhh shit yeah

haha s/t FTW!!!
does he use the word "kambucha" or something like that?
"the kambucha mushroom people sitting around all day!" is it?

^ wrong

it was all about playing the intro to Chop Suey over and over and over again.

i bought the S/T album

on the grounds of the Kerrap! review it got - that was a tremendous day. Not Toxicity release day so much, though.

THE UNION UNDERGROUND

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtgY3aho_wk

"Turn me on, turn me on, Mr. Deadman, YEAH!"

American Head Charge, anyone?

that debut is a beast

YES YES YESYES YES YES YES

and a lot more yes'.

AHC were absolutly brutal......

I saw them live with A Vacant Stare, both bands were umbelivable awesome.

Never get caught was a dirty, dirty song.

Holy shit!

The Union Underground!

I'm pretty sure that both nu-metal and WWF Wrestling were at their best when they co-existed like they did in the late 90's/early naughties.

totes.

If you add in 'playing Warhammer 40K, whilst listening to 36 Crazyfists and watching WCW on Channel 5' into that equation, you've pretty much got the best thing ever.

Warhammer 40K ftw.

Dark Angels rule all.<
