no women there? mia and missy are better than ti.
also, a cop-out to have a joint number 1. 2-pac isn't that good, but biggie ready to die deserves it's number 1 spot.
good to see jay-z's black album at number 2 tied with blueprint. the black album is better than reasonable doubt.
thoughts?

*bang* *bang* Rollin' wit the big dawg....

Nothin' but good things, aiiiiiiight?

Okay, we're gettin' down to street level, you know how we do!

*Sirens* *Rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat*

Shout goin' out to my man Jamal and the entire crew, holdin' it down at KFC in St Albans.

Missy? maybe

MIA? hyperlolzania

rest of list? meh

the chronic

should be much higher, and where's "a tribe called quest"??

Exactly.

The Low End Theory!!! Represent!

Hell yeah

Best stand-up basslines on any record!

low end theory

by tribe is in there joint with midnight marauders at 12.

Oops

so it is.

Should be in the top 5 (at least).

Along with 'Illmatic' by Nas and 'Stress: the Extinction Agenda' by Organized Konfusion.

Fuck 2pac.

Marshall Mathers > Illmatic?

No.

Just no.

I have no idea how Westwood

has such a credibility in hiphop. His music taste is terrible and he isn't even a good DJ.

i agree....

he's a joke.

to put 2pac and Biggie as joint first place is tacky as hell, just coz they were shot does not make them better artists.

Westwood is just a vicars son from Norwich. Has anyone ever seen him with a woman?

half of this

is shite. props to big daddy kane though.

the game, dmx, kanye, snoop, dr dre, eminem and fiddy. all pretty terrible.

Big Daddy Kane

is awsome his flow is somat else on some records.

smooth operator

is pretty fucking big. and apart from those albums mentioned above, it is a pretty sound list.

.

no 3 feet high and rising?

well westwood never had any credibility anyway so i don't mind. he's still fucking funny

he used to

it's not surprising that all the best records there are from the time when he actually played records on independents and not just stuff on the label that employed him. hmmmmmmmmmmm.

His Sunday Grime show is pretty good now.

Although the fact that he can't mix really holds it back as the show only ever has any momentum when the MCs bring thier own DJ.

Does anyone remember that incident when he basically said he like to gay it up with 50 cent?

haha, what?

the best Westwood incident i remember was when he pretty much had a fight on air with KRS-ONE because KRS said Timmy didn't "know what was happening in the streets" and something about going to Brixton and everyone saying they didn't like him.

6. Puff Daddy - No Way Out

23. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx

erm, no.

What...

No GLC????

.

Mocking Westwood is played out like an Osh-Kosh jumpsuit.

OK, he's basically a caricature now but his shows used to be amazing (even when he moved to the BBC) and he's put on some of the best hip hop shows this country has ever seen.

List is not that bad. Indie messageboards and 30+ white rap fans are presumably not really his target audience.

I'm not doubting him...

You have got to respect Westwood and the respect he gets from rappers from all over the world.

The GLC comment was not aimed because he is white - it was a raceless comment... Sarcasm, a low form of wit, but raceless sarcasm.

The list is fine - although Doggystyle or NWA have got to be pushing that number one slot.

It is his opinion and taste though and he knows better than most.

No Mos Def?

That list is null and void!

.

LMAO

No...

Liquid Swords, Aquemini, Ill Communication, 3 Feet High., Black on Both Sides, or any Missy Elliot? Blimey.

And Straight Out of Compton and Nation of Millions. not in the top 10, and behind Puff Daddy?

None of us were expecting cLOUDEAD, Common or Edan in the list but come on Westwood, your piss taking has reached new levels.

For me...

...it's not the world's worst list to be honest. The inclusion of albums such as 'Diplomatic Immunity' by Diplomats are there clearly to represent eras and movements in rap rather than for their quality as such.

Sure the order is a touch stupid, but hey, that's the case with most of these list no-matter who makes them.

Wow,

Enter the 36 Chambers should really be higher shouldnt it?

i remember being absolutely stunned when i first heard this album...no public enemy in the top 10?

also, NWA - Straight Outta Compton > pretty much everything above it.

predictably shit list in my opinion.

plus,

i'd totally put Nigga Please by ODB in there because it is soooo fucking ace

NO

Stop encouraging Busta Rhymes. He is the biggest cretin in music.

i don't usually like him

but i still enjoy a bit of E.L.E. on occasions

Upon reading the list properly

it's pleasing that A Tribe Called Quest are quite high up there.

.

CAN'T BELIEVE HE LEFT JUST JACK OFF THE LIST

Seriously

Tupac and Biggie at number 1? Fuck off right now. I wouldn't even have them in the top 10.

Basically I could write an essay on why the top 25 is completely wrong but it's too blantantly obvious as it is Tim Westwood.

THE PHARCYDE

where are they then?

biggie

fucking rules. you are just wrong. fuck off, write your essay and don't bother me.

I don't agree

It's only my opinion and therefore you don't need to act like a complete cunt about it.

Biggie does indeed rule.

Tupac is overrated and the album that Westwood picked isn't even 2Pac's best one. That would be 'All Eyez On Me' and that's not even in the same arena as 'Ready to Die'.

that list was a terrible waste of time

BIG L: Big Picture or Lifestylez of da poor and dangerous??

MOS DEF: ??

Project Pat: Mista Don't Play ??

Wu Tang Forever was the best wu record IMHO.

That list

wasn't too awful until it got down to the top 10.

Classics surronded by shit

I don't think you could ever put N.W.A and The Game in a sentence without being "N.W.A is a million times better than the Game"

It seems pretty fair

lose the fucking rapist, eminem. fiddy and puffy and a couple of others and i would agree.

Need to add de la, slick rick and kool g rap and polo though

Also there arent really any great female rappers which is wny there arent any in there.. there are some good ones, but no classics
