hehe

i like these joke threads.

...

uhm.

We are actually a band.

Thats given me

a great idea for a song ... off to write it, will post it tomorrow

...

did this ever happen?

oh

2/10

Haggle?

5/10

in all seriousness

if you're going for the scout niblett, stripped down uke thing, then it's alright I guess. it's just that with it being only 2 chords and not having much variation in the melody it's pretty forgettable. as an introductory demo it'd probably work fine, but as a single? i assume you was joking.

Not really

we're recording an EP and this will probably be the lead track on it. So...sort of.

Ukelele question:

I always just assume whenever I hear a ukelele that it's a baritone cos I believe the tuning is like the top 4 strings on a guitar. The littler ones are not. Is that right? And for these do you have to learn all new chord stuffs?

btw, song is good. The acting is another thing entirely... ;)

...sort of

the ones we have are tuned GCEA, only with C being the lowest string, so really it is tuned CEGA.

It does mean you have to re-learn chords but it still sounds acceptable using basic barr modulation.
Glad you liked the song, we're recording more as we speak.

Hmmmm interesting.

Not what I expected...

out of interest

what *were* you expecting?

umm

i would have enjoyed it more if you played more than two chords or at least changed the strum pattern. don't listen to me, though.

No offence

But it really isn't very good.

i'm not sure people here quite 'get it', thommo

but this is exactly what i would expect you to come out with and exactly what i wanted to hear from you.
i'll buy your ep and come to your shows.
i'll be your stage dancer. i'm dead good, me.

stage dancer! That'd be good.

i'm thinking maybe we should get somebody to paint onstage as well. White Stripes said they'd asked Billy Childish to do that for them when they appeared on Top Of The Pops but he refused. Billy childish is terrible though, so every cloud...

i love that

"it's not the music that's the problem, it's the listeners"

surely that's quite a logical stand-point?

as every genre has it's niche.

I mean

This recording is terrible, so... It's difficult to tell properly, but it should either be generally louder or quite a lot less dense, in my opinion.

It's

as loud as we could take it, really, everything was in the red.

One minor point

What with you being from Brighton (I think) and being a twee male/female ukelele led-group and given the Bobby McGees are from Brighton and are a twee male/female ukelele led group, is the band's name gonna cause confusion?

It has a bit already

there have been instances where we've gone to see The Bobby McGees together and people have asked us what time we're on.

not bad

i listened the whole way through so you must be doing something right. Dont listen to other people, doesnt need any more chords.

thanks

i have been writing songs with three chords in, but i feel dirty afterwards.

i watched

the first practise. I'm sure you're lovely people but if you started playing like that at a party I'd wrap those ukelele's round your heads.
