the race single...i have that on a rose song on the nme c96 cd which also has dweeb, tunic, ligament, quickspace supersport's seminal song for nme and broadcast
listening to mark and lard play shining in the wood while i was trying to sleep...i jumped out of the bed and wrote down what the song was....the next day i tried to find stuff about it...and didn't...couldnt find the single anywhere....
flashback alert. I saw Tiger at the Tunbridge Wells Forum...God knows when. I remember it distinctly for some very scary 'nerd' guy standing at the front shouting that he loved the keyboardist the whole way through. I suppose it's not just the very famous who get mentally unhinged stalkers. Tiger were a bit naff but I suppose that was some of their charm. And they knew a good tune. I remember a really good b-side about an RAF nurse or something.
i listened to rose by them
last week...thats a goodun too.
race had good b-sides too didn't it.
"i'm in love with a raf nurse, lives quite near my home...married to a squadron leader...mmmmmummble"
and "i got a time tunnel cellar, connected to the house, it's powered by the weather and....mummble"
puppet pal too

these were the days
of good nme's...good british bands (mainly scottish)....and gigs that wouldnt sell out before the day....
Yes, Shining In The Wood
great song. Had something of the Krautrock about them as well. Listening to them now, they sound like the band Los Campesinos wish they could be!!
Ive gopt the single and the album 'We Are Puppets'
haven't played either for 10 years but enjoyed both I recall
I own nearly
all those singles and both albums
Friends was awesome...
tiger
were what you get if you cross the human league with the fall and therefore were a very good idea. 2nd album was a bit shit though.
