An odd album that veers between indie pop (Elvis, Colours), electronica (Doppelganger), grime-punk (Swords Of Truth), post-punk (En Papier), lo-fi field recording (H, 4) and hip hop (Infinity). It is overly ambitious and inconsistent in the best possible way.
On MKK Jack Barnett's vocal musings strike the perfect balance between cynicism and emotional anguish. On Swords Of Truth they are simultaneously philosophical and angrily rapped.
Full of processed beats and electronic squarks, this is an impressive album from a bunch of teenagers that will see them enter the canon of eccentric english alternative groups.
