Attack Of The Spiders, the b-sides collection that followed debut album Spiders by Space. Because it wasn't released on cd and i'm an obsessive compulsive completist.
BUT the first piece of music I ever owned was the Ace of Base album, on tape, which I bought from ASDA and we listened to it in the car on the way home. I LOVED IT
I got my first CD player for Christmas 1990 and 2 CDs to go in it, so my first CD was either Now...20 or Nevermind. I'd like to think I opened Nirvana first, but I think I was probably drawn to the bigger package (stop it) of the double CD first.
but only because I was 15 before I got a CD player. If I'd have had one at the start of my record buying 'career' it would've been far more embarrassing.

Batman Soundtrack - Prince
Cuts Both Ways - Gloria Estefan

First CD: Sing by Abra Moore when I was, erm, 18, I didn't have a cd player til 20! This album is bloody marvellous, a bit Laura Veirs/Joanna Newsom in its darker tracks...
was my first CD. I was about 10/11 at the time, and the Acid Rave scene in my school was unescapable. I remember it shifted to
Jungle about 3 years later, with indie/dance acts like Carter USM, PWEI and Ned's Atomic Dustbin filling the interim; but those early, early 90s halcyon days, man... of course, it's unfashionable to like the Prodigy now, but they were important, once. Charly was such a mind-shock to a kid brought up on his parent's tastes - Queen, The Carpenters, Beatles, Gershwin.
or if this is the correct song name, but I got that You Only Get What You Give song as my first CD, alongside a Polly Pocket with my saved up pocket money.
by Guns N'Roses. I got it the day it came out which just so happened to be the day after my birthday when I was given my first ever CD player. At the time this was an exciting cd to buy...
Singles - She's so high by Blur and James - Come Home. People used to come round our house just to marvel at the clear sound - I was the first person I knew with a CD player. It was 1989 in rural worcestershire

I got my first CD player for Christmas 1990 and 2 CDs to go in it, so my first CD was either Now...20 or Nevermind. I'd like to think I opened Nirvana first, but I think I was probably drawn to the bigger package (stop it) of the double CD first.

Charly was such a mind-shock to a kid brought up on his parent's tastes - Queen, The Carpenters, Beatles, Gershwin.
Craig David
born to do it.
I don't know what the band is
or if this is the correct song name, but I got that You Only Get What You Give song as my first CD, alongside a Polly Pocket with my saved up pocket money.
It's by The New Radicals
and it's a great tune. Complete 1-hit Wonder, though - under his own steam, that is - the guy behind it has written a lot of top-40 material.
OK Computer
2nd Cd - B*Witched: C'est La Vie.
True story.
