ok i hate sandwichs. nothing worse for a meal. but i've come to crave packaged sandwiches over these past few days of eating some out of need to eat something cheap and having no kitchen to cook in. so WHAT IS IN THEM that makes them addictive? there must be something because i have no cravings to build a sandwich yet would happily eat a packaged one right now..

.

Crack

i agree

but isn't pret owned by mcdonald's? kind of puts me off but still.. mmmm

McDonalds is yum too

Don't tell me you don't eat mcdonalds.

That thing which I can't remember the name of

But I can remember that it's CARCINOGENIC. You know, like sleep and water and stuff.

Sugar

and lots of it, and salt. Also, heroin.

sugar

salt and fat.

there's definitely something.

maybe just massive amounts of salt & loads of e-things. i read an article that said there's up to ten times the daily recommended salt levels in some packaged supermarket sandwiches, and even some of the healthier ones are the equivelent to eating twelve packets of crisps.

AH!

MUST QUIT ASAP

i probably should too

but a chicken & bacon sarnie is pretty much perfection.

i dont eat packaged sandwiches

for some reason the industry has something against people who dont eat butter or mayo.

i've seen some without

like hummous from pret for example

They don't do this one anymore

I wrote them a letter complaining as it's the only vegan sarnie they did and it was delish. My comments have been taken on board, blah, blah, blah...

aww :(

i didn't know that! ugh :( that was my always my vegan emergency food.

they still do the veggie sushi though!

Me too

You could always rely on Pret. I overdosed on their sushi one summer and can't stomach it anymore. Go on their website and write to them: we can start a campaign to bring it back!

yes, i will!!

they're made with love

d'you know what is muggybonehead - when the bread goes all flat and soggy

or

end-of-flight sandwich made with just carrots and butter :(

* note to self *

try this

salt

the worst is

those sandwich fillers you can get from supermarkets. i spent about six months addicted to coronation chicken and honey&mustard chicken sandwich fillers. bad times.

:(

i'm slowly pulling myself back up by my bootstraps alright

it's cause they're in triangles

it's like having an affair while your oblong sandwich is taking the kids to the park; you keep promising each time is the last.

whats not in them?

Have you read the hundreds of ingrediants in some of them?

How can anyone hate sandwiches?!

What a freak?!

I know someone who is repulsed by them

she describes it as a phobia which I think is excessive. I mean, fair enough if you don't like them, but they're not likely to take on a life of their own and eat you or anything like that.

I am fond of a pre-packaged chicken and bacon sarnie, I must say.

On a slightly theme

I know someone who has the same lunch literally every day of the working week. He has ham and mustard sandwiches (four slices of brown bread), Walker's salt and vinegar crisps, an apple, and a chocolate bar. He literally never deviates from this. He also buys the crisps in the mixed multipacks and never eats the other ones so has bags of them going spare. He refuses to buy the salt and vinegar miultipacks for some reason.

Also if he's eating grapes, he must have a certain amount, or a certain amount of slices of cucumber if he eats that. He also has days for different food in the evenings. Strange.
