I'm going to try and make it down for at least one day, if they're doing single day tickets again this year. Might well be able to do both days this year, who knows.
with the MJ Hibbett thing on Friday included? The website says they're on sale from the 1st, so presumably that's when they go online. And yeah, I think I can make both days now.
was the best weekend i had last year, SO good - The Orchids, Darren Hayman, Cats on Fire, A smile and a ribbon, the school. Bands playing on the trains, a BOUNCY CASTLE!
I'm so going again this year, shame about Whitetown though.
Tickets are on sale now, even if when I rang on Saturday the person who answered didn't know what I was asking after and had to hand me over to someone else.

I have no idea who most of those people are, but that's probably half the fun. And a headliner still to come, it seems.
1) a Darren Hayman and Dave Gedge duet (my heart would literally impload from all the lovelorn-ness and gorgeous vocals!) Maybe they could even dress in railway attire...mmmm.....
I do know of quite a few of those, just not as many as last year. But then little last year - meeting Bobby Grindrod, realising I was towering over everyone else in the train for the Pocketbooks singalong, nearly having my lunch taken by Jimmy from the Bobby McGees - compared with something like wandering into the church and discovering Wake The President.
...the Golden Valley caravan park- just one minute walk from the festival site. It's only £15 a night, you can get a power supply direct to your tent, they do lovely breakfasts in the canteen, and there's also dead modern showers right by the tents, with plug sockets and everything. I don't really like camping, but this was deffo the best tent experience I've ever had!
can you tell them Sweeping The Nation and its 200+ daily readership all vote for A Classic Education and The Hot Puppies* for the two member-chosen slots?
(* alright, half them and half Cats And Cats And Cats)
I'm going too, although I am a little bit afraid of it being so twee my teeth fall out. Apparently Monpot's bringing several CDs of nothing but screaming, which should provide a bit of balance.
There were lots of glockenspiels and floral prints last year, but it's a broad church (of melodic guitars and harmonies, admittedly, but broad nonetheless. And the church used as a second stage isn't actually that broad)
Yes, any passing DEP fans, I mean what I write when I say "he's playing on a train". You'd be surprised how many people can cram into a carriage of a restored steam train.
If you're going to die there, it'll probably be from the on-site cafe chips.
just checked out a few more of the bands and must say i'm quite looking forward too this and the fact its about a mile away from my house is a added bonus.
Might do
I went on the Sunday last year and enjoyed it a lot, but I'll wait to see some more of this year's bill before deciding.
The bill so far, for what it's worth: Darren Hayman, The Kabeedies, Lardpony, KateGoes, Milky Wimpshake, Strawberry Story and White Town.
I'm deffo
going, and white town just nakes it all the more exciting. Lardpony are ace too.
You can add
MJ Hibbett to that. Doing his special, created-for-the-Edinburgh-fringe show; weeks before the Edinburgh fringe.
Winner.
White Town still plays?!?
I'd love to see that. But boo, not close to home
i heard about this last night
it looks amazing, so hopefully im going
Oh good lord
The Wedding Present are headlining the Saturday. And Ballboy are playing too.
!!!!
i wanted to go before, this pretty my sells it.
I'm very tempted.
I couldn't go last year, for one reason or another. This year, I shall do my damndest to get there.
I'll be going again...
I went last year, a lovely festival and very different to the usual corporate affair! Impressive line-up so far for this year...
but...
i picture you wanting to kill everyone there, bands included?

I'm going to try and make it down for at least one day, if they're doing single day tickets again this year. Might well be able to do both days this year, who knows.
White Town have pulled out
it says here tonight.
The Manhattan Love Suicides, though.
i am tempted
but it's probably too far away to make it sensible, maybe though, the last one looked great.
last year was indeed
totally awesome.
I think tickets are already on sale though, I bought tickets on the 4th of feb
Wasn't that on the phone
with the MJ Hibbett thing on Friday included? The website says they're on sale from the 1st, so presumably that's when they go online. And yeah, I think I can make both days now.
ahhh
maybe they stopped selling them after the first 100.
I hope the food is better this year though. I had a bloody awful fish burger from the on-site cafe and felt sick for about 6 hours.
This looks mint.
I'm going to investigate further.
do it
the campsite is really nice too
You like Clinic
and are urging me to do something.
I'm on the verge of caving in due to that bare fact.
it's proven
using SCIENCE that Clinic fans know everything.
This
was the best weekend i had last year, SO good - The Orchids, Darren Hayman, Cats on Fire, A smile and a ribbon, the school. Bands playing on the trains, a BOUNCY CASTLE!
I'm so going again this year, shame about Whitetown though.
the Bobby Mcgees
are playing again too. They were freaking awesome last year
I share a surname with them
I want to go lots.
I WANT to go
Maybe I WILL go.
it's good that there's more interest about indietracks
on here. If I remember correctly last years thread pretty much sank without trace...
this all sounds quite fun
...
Wave Pictures added
best place
to look for line up changes seems to be here:

Comet fucking Gain!
Supportive bump

:D
Woo!
My band has just been confirmed to play this. I'm rather looking forward to it.
woo!
you were all well skill at christmas twee, looking forward to much of the same, with added weekend long mayhem
Teehee
Thanks! We'll try to spread our drinking out throughout the weekend a little more sensibly, so we don't invade the stage while other bands play...
hurray!
the ticket price is worth it alone to see the deirdres <3
yeah, same
wouldn't have known about this fest until we were asked to play. really excited about it too
never been to a festie outside scotland
this sounds rather good
wedding present and ballboy! :-)
Last year ruled!

looks like there'll be a chance to win tickets:
http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/3066775
I think we should start a campaign for.....
1) a Darren Hayman and Dave Gedge duet (my heart would literally impload from all the lovelorn-ness and gorgeous vocals!) Maybe they could even dress in railway attire...mmmm.....
2) The Weddoes to play some Cinerama songs...
Waht do you reckon?
i know quite a lot of them
they're all really good. and the retro spankees! YAY!
To be exact
I do know of quite a few of those, just not as many as last year. But then little last year - meeting Bobby Grindrod, realising I was towering over everyone else in the train for the Pocketbooks singalong, nearly having my lunch taken by Jimmy from the Bobby McGees - compared with something like wandering into the church and discovering Wake The President.
Horray
for Pocketbooks and the Mai68s!
The Wedding Present are playing??!!?!
I'm tempted
if there's a hotel nearby
I'm ready to book my ticket
anyone want to join me? I'll probably camp.
I think I'm going to go
but not camp
The Travelodge
has rooms for £51 per night that can hold 3 people if anyone else is interested
ditto
I can recommend...
...the Golden Valley caravan park- just one minute walk from the festival site. It's only £15 a night, you can get a power supply direct to your tent, they do lovely breakfasts in the canteen, and there's also dead modern showers right by the tents, with plug sockets and everything. me too!
I'm going and I'm staying here :) glad you say it's decent :)
i'm hoping to go
wil camp if i do
If anyone reading is registered with the Anorak forum
can you tell them Sweeping The Nation and its 200+ daily readership all vote for A Classic Education and The Hot Puppies* for the two member-chosen slots?
(* alright, half them and half Cats And Cats And Cats)
i was just about to do a post about this
definate yes.
there is now
a blog on indietracks.co.uk with interviews with the bands who are playing. my excitement levels are running high.
OH
GOLLY.
this looks wonderful.
I hope i persuade and convince my folks to let me go
:)
im beaming
I've been offered a cheap ticket for this
and after much umming and ahhing, I think I shall have to take it. Butterley, here I come!
Silence At Sea
have been added. Isn't that the band restlessboy occasionally plays in?
(Although looking at their Myspace there's no mention of him and no PWL in the Top Friends, so if I've reopened wounds I apologise)
no
he's in silence at sea too on bass and does good backing vocals
I've booked my ticket!
wowowow.
buuuump
can't have this falling off the page.
Has everyone litened to the bands featd on the inietracks blog yet?
my browser
won't let me see it :( :(
.
the band i play in, the rosie taylor project, are playing this
i am massively massively excited :D
I'm excited for seeing you there
I think there's still a headliner and a few more names to go yet. Damn, this is going to be good.
Indietracks blog!
Hi everyone, do pop over and see us on the Indietracks blog at http://indietracks.livejournal.com/
We've got all sorts going on- interviews, news, free mp3s and we're running a competition to win Kabeedies CDs at the mo!
Do feel free to send us your suggestions too about other things you'd like to see on the blog...
Nat xx
seeing with all of the
wedding present are the best band of the last 20yrs stuff going on, this deserves a BUMP.
Great festival - We played last year
but I think we scared off the bowlies. We got amazingly good reviews bemoaning the lack of attendance at our set... :(
compilation cd
is going to be released for this, i hear.
i have now bought a ticket :D
^5
I'm going too, although I am a little bit afraid of it being so twee my teeth fall out. Apparently Monpot's bringing several CDs of nothing but screaming, which should provide a bit of balance.
Ha

i've just noticed colin clary is playing
i have one of his albums, it's a hand-made CDR wrapped in a mini sweater.
if i'm going to die, it may as well be from excess twee.
He's playing on a train, I think
although The Smittens are playing a proper stage.
Yes, any passing DEP fans, I mean what I write when I say "he's playing on a train". You'd be surprised how many people can cram into a carriage of a restored steam train.
If you're going to die there, it'll probably be from the on-site cafe chips.
last years..
Sing a long with Pocketbooks on the train was the greatest 20 minutes or so ever..
All the normal mum/dad/kids trying to see into the carriage to see what was going on was priceless.
ah, indietracks, how i love you.
aww that's so cute!
mini sweater!
can't freaking wait
although this year I promise not to piss off the entire campsite by staying up all night singing soft rock.
woah
just checked out a few more of the bands and must say i'm quite looking forward too this and the fact its about a mile away from my house is a added bonus.
St, Christopher
Brilliant songwriter and singer - Glenn Melia. They have been around since 1986.
Strawberry Story, also from the late eighties - The best twee-girl singer shambling indiepop band - much better than Shop Assistants or Talulah Gosh
Exciting news to come!
We'll hopefully be announcing the Sunday headliner VERY soon, so keep your peepers peeled on the Indietracks website and blog.
It's exciting, I promise!
The headliners are announced midday on Monday
And if you don't want to know who they are, don't read this - http://tinyurl.com/4xwxu6
:(
DiSappointment.
for anyone who didnt read that, its Los Campesinos
I so can't wait until this.
I'll be there again
Might use Los Campos! as an excuse to get back to Nottingham early and not take the Monday off work though.
