fuck!

is this true? It seems to be all over the internet! Oh my god :(

Well it's on the big sites...

...but it's so breaking that they haven't written any pages for the 'Breaking news' tickets yet.

Noooooooo

too young
no no no no no. :(

wow

!

This is

a real shocker.

Fuck

This is breaking news on Sky News now. Shit

no fucking way.

i'm at a loss for words.

holy shit

:'(

fucking hell!

this is quite surreal

Overdose

apparently

of heroin

no less

Bullshit

No evidence of that yet, in any report. Legal, pharmaceutical drugs were found near the body and there hasn't even been confirmation they were involved

Wikipedia!

Fucking hell they move fast...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_Ledger

Wikipedia is amazing that way

Sad business. I always liked him.

Apparently there was one celebrity

may have been Anna Nicole Smith- whose death was on Wikipedia before the police report was filed.

Shocking news :-O

I think...

It was the wrestler Chris Benoit. But this is horrendous.

...

According to the New York City Police Department, Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment in downtown Manhattan on January 22, 2008.[19][20]

Sewell Chan of The New York Times writes: "At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near body

oh jeez

i saw something about this on another forum but assumed it was a joke/referring to a film...
what happened to him?!

this is really awful

very shocking.

this is so sad

:(

R.I.P.

This shocked me so much.

Do you think The Dark Knight will be dedicated to him?

Dark Knight will sure be dedicated to him..

...but will be really hard to watch. Especially considering the type of character he portrays in it (who likely gets killed at the end).

oh my god.

that's awful.
:'''(
i'm so shocked.

Shit

On Sky News now, drug overdose apparently. Only 28.

This is horrible

it looks like it may be suicide, too :(

He was a very good actor who maybe chose some bad roles at times...

As is 10 Things I Hate About You

He really was the best thing in everything that he was in :(

I hope Dark Knight isn't delayed because of this, he'll be a brilliant Joker in it and it'll be a great testament to his acting skills.

I'm pretty certain it was all filmed, wasn't it?

I've been looking forward to it for so long, I hope they don't delay it.

Brokeback Mountain is the best thing ever :(

it probably has all been filmed

i don't know.

I'm really quite shocked by this, but the first thing i thought was 'i hope he filmed all his bits for The Dark Knight'...I know, I'm a bad person.

Yeah it was

I just hope they don't delay it 'out of respect' or if there's any doubt over the way he died.

Ledger's Joker looks fantastic.

they haven't done any post production

so any adr, extra scenes, etc will be hard to do.

Yes they have.

It's in post now.

The trailer that's currently around (I saw it in the cinema today) is very Joker-centric.

but apparently the trailer is a bit misleading

I read that more of the focus is on Harvey Two-Face rather than the Joker

Yeah but

All the Two-Face stuff has to be done in post, whereas the Joker stuff doesn't. Which is why I don't think him dying will have any effect on the release date of the film.

That's really scary

:( really really scary

:(

i actually feel really sick

right now.

so sad.....

Now's probably not the time to say it...

but 10 Things I Hate About You is a massively under-rated film and as good a genre teen-movie as you could possibly hope for.

but everyone thinks so

so it's not really under-rated

^^^

this

That makes me sad

I was watching Brokeback the other day, he was so goood in that.

oh my :(

and just missed the 27 club...seems a bit cold to be thinking about that, odd though

I saw him in Covent Garden a few weeks ago!

It was very exciting. He was ace.

Sky News

is the Fox News of Britain - pure speculative shit....

no

its fact.

True

what was that after the twin towers were hit: "the entire US eastern seaboard is under attack"

you actually met him?

talked to him?>

this is awful

his acting in brokeback will go down as one of the all time great film performances. terrible news.

Perez Hilton

has written that apparently one of the Olsen twins was with him at the time of death, but this sounds like bullshit considering that no reputable news outlets seem to have any info about how he died. His poor kid.

Perez Hilton

needs to be put in solitary confinement for the rest of his life NOW.

i am sad. :(

NY Times says

"The actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon apartment in Manhattan owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, according to the New York City police. Signs pointed to a suicide, police sources said. Mr. Ledger was 28."

Despite their grammatical errors, they're fairly reputable, right?

Indeed

I hadn't read that. Perez has now removed the bit about the Olsen twin, but he made it sound as though she found him/was there at the time.

NY Times about as reputable as it gets

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/22/actor-heath-ledger-is-found-dead/index.html?hp

Their website is reporting that the apartment is owned by Mary-Kate "the anorexic one" Olsen.

Her wikipedia page says this now too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary-Kate_Olsen

for the record..

Don't know how the Mary-Kate connection started, but it looks like she's in the clear now.

(For the record, the Olsen twins are still really useless and annoying.)

candy

he was good in this.
really like all his films actually.
sad loss to the film industry.

he was brilliant in ned kelly

which is an extremely underrated film

ooh, I thought that looked good

I've never seen it before though.

can lend it to you when

we move to london. or you can come round to watch it! weird! i will live in london!

shit me!

I saw him in Shoreditch about 2 months ago.

:-(

the dark knight will be hard to watch

What a shock

One of the best gay cowboys ever.

shepherds!

gay shepherds!

What a shock

One of the best gay cowboys ever.

I've just watched the trailer for

the Dark Knight. He looks really good in it.

I've never seen any batman films, and probably wouldn't go to see this normally. Strangely, him dying has made me more interested in watching it.

:(

it's like aaliyah

in the queen of the damned. the dark knight will go even bigger than it was going to

yeah

i was gutted about that too. this all feels very river phoenix.

^

i thought "river phoenix" too when i found out

I see what you mean

In the same way, I found it interesting to watch the Darjeeling Limited to examine Owen Wilson's acting, to see if there was any evidence of whatever caused him to attempt suicide.

So sad...

I had literally just watched the trailer on you tube then came to this...

so sad...

I had literally just watched the trailer for Dark knight on youtube, then saw this.

Shit, it was just

on TV.
Wow.
R.I.P.

Oh nooo

I loved him in Lords of Dogtown and such..

:( r.i.p.

That's another Gilliam film

...off the rails. Doesn't have a lot of luck does he?

I was about to say...

all that filming in farringdon for nothing.

sad sad news

:(

the speed news travels with the internet is amazing

he was found dead an hour and a half before it was on here!

Sky News have got the tone just right.

"Do you think it was because of his looks?"

Jesus....

I fucking well hate Sky News.

Dreadful. He was a brilliant actor, I'm genuinely shocked. RIP.

It's awful

They're now speculating on gossip from celeb websites. Utterly disturbing journalism.

^yeah

unbelieveable

really sad

poor guy

sad

its so sad. he was so young and in his prime career wise.

It will have a huge impact on the Dark Knight

It's going to have a huge affect on this movie. People will find it bittersweet. This is the movie he will be most remembered for just like when Aaliyah died after the filming of Queen of the Damned. What sucks, besides the fact that he was so young and such a good actor, but he was now at the top of his game. With this movie, he could have been on the way to the A-List actors. It's awful, but everything happens for a reason and it must have been his time. He will be forever remembered and my sympathies are with his family.

very well put

it will hurt to watch him now.

I'm feeling

really upset about this.
I was only watching 10 Things I Hate About You the other week.

He looked brilliant in the Dark Knight trailer.

SHIT

from what i saw of him (10 things, knights tale, brokeback) he was a really talented young guy, and seemed nice enough too. tragedy :(
