Along with Quadrophenia, it added to my dislike for The Who, and everything they put their name to.

It attempted to be really artistic, but didn't pull it off at all. It just looks embarrassing. It was like they were trying to do Magical Mystery Tour, but without any edge or attitude.

You think?

Or maybe, they were just trying to have some fun??
It is kind of freaky though.

Cringe-worthy

It is terrible.

I hate the Who. The only bit I like about that film is the Tina Turner 'Acid Queen' bit.

It was

Revolutionary at the time. most stuf in the 70's looks a bit dated and cringeworthy now don't you think!?

as much as i quite enjoy some of the music i dont really believe the film was revolutionary at the t

nor can i really see that it wouldve seemed any less ridiculous in the 70s. who else wrote a rock opera about a deaf dumb and blind pinball playing child prodigy back then?

Theres nothing shit about

A quick one while hes away

or

Sell out.

Do your homework before you slag off good music.

But you're evidently a prick,

and so 'good music' in your eyes is probably usually dogdirt.

When I was your age, I knew so much more than you about music.

Going by your opinions.

I am twice your age now.

You know absolutely nothing about music, so dont try and bullshit everyone on here that you do.

You're right about

Quadrophenia.

It really is crap.

The first bad thing about it

was the fact all these kids were going round dancing to the Who's music.

The second was the fact the soundtrack was completely literal to the events on-screen, so while Daltrey's singing "park my Vespa in the yard, go upstairs to my bedroooooooom!", Phil Daniels is doing EXACTLY that. So so bad.

The third is the fact they tried to have some sort of message, especially with the end sequence. But I didn't get the message.

I hate it.

It's more

that I had NO empathy with the characters.

Phil Daniels is a moron who fucks up his life essentially.

Tommy was a film that I couldn't avoid as a kid

as they were always showing it at school as part of film club. It was tosh at the time and hasn't dated well.

Although I will always have a soft spot for Ann-Margaret writhing in baked beans.
