Reformed rockers Smashing Pumpkins will be playing a series of arena-sized shows in February. Tickets are on sale from the end of this week (November 16).

With comeback LP Zeitgeist flying off shelves worldwide - despite it being, y'know, a bit cack - time seems right to cash in on the touring front.

February
12 Glasgow SECC (0870 169 0100)
14 Nottingham Arena (0870 121 0123)
15 Manchester MEN Arena (0844 847 8000)
16 London O2 Arena (0844 856 0202)

Tickets go on sale at noon on November 16, priced between £30 and £32.50.

"flying off the shelves..."

straight into the bargain bins surely...? there is a cd+dvd on the way apparently too <yawn> all said, even though NIN showed them up completely at Reading they were quite good regardless, as long as they avoid the goth-supertramp dull jams I'd be happy...

I think

it has sold about one million in total all around the world, which is alright - but it hasn't exactly set the world on fire.

The question is: now that they've reformed, headlined festivals, doing the arena tour...what's next? Another album? If so, unless it's a massive return to form, then it will sell less, the shows will be smaller, etc. It's quite depressing in a way.

Will still definitely be at the O2 though.

right

i adore the Pumpkins (see what i did there?) But there's no fucking way i'm paying to see this monstrosity. I was too young to see them the first time round, and that's just my shit luck.

you could have seen them aged 11

but yeah. your right

I've seen them do the arena farewell tour

And they were pretty shit then to be honest. Can't imagine they've improved by losing half the band.

I think I'm going to attend

all points above noted, but it's billy Corgan playing Pumpkins songs, which I've never seen due to not being into them at the time.

They were great at Reading

I've actually come around to the idea of the Pumpkins minus James.

Was there another Reading then?

Because they were unbelievably dull and rubbish at the one I saw.

Smashing Pumpkins still goes down as one of the roughest gigs I've been to. Big Day Out in Sydney around 1994. One of those rare moshes where a couple of hundred people fall over and no one can get up because they're pinned down by someone on top of them. The bizarre image is still burnt into my brain.

Scottish tickets.

Does anyone know where you will be able to buy the Scottish tickets from online? See Tickets only have the English dates and I haven't found anywhere else with them yet. I know they're not on sale until Friday but usually you can see if the website will be selling them in advance like you can on See Tickets.
