Oxford-based swirly rockers Swervedriver have reformed, reports Pitchfork.
The four-piece last released a long-play record in 1998; 99th Dream was their fourth album in all, and arrived after the band had been cut from the Geffen roster.
The band's Adam Franklin initially remarked that he may haul Swervedriver out of their hiatus when the Pixies began their money-spinning reformation shows, and now (according to Pitchfork) there are definitely dates forthcoming for 2008.
More details as and when we can be bothered to look over there at the community column and steal them.
This does NOT get my vote.
They were awful
Melody Maker was obsessed with them. I got them mixed up with Catherine Wheel.
Bye.
they were great !
And Adam Franklin solo album this year was good too !
But a reformation is never a good thing !
Son Of Mustang Ford
was pretty damn great. Looking forward to this
they're all at it though...
it's all about the $$$'s
Forget swervedriver...
... We want THE PALE SAINTS TO REFORM
you sure ?
Stalking...
I keep on bumping into the original Swervedriver guitarist Jimmy in the most unsual places. A West Sussex antique shops tea room. The market under the fylover dahn Portobello Road (ok maybe not that unusual). I'm not stalking him.
I liked the Rave Down EP a lot when I was 19. Live they were so-so/ok and I can't really think of anything else to say.
At a glance
i thought this said Skrewdriver were to reform. Which i thought was a bit weird, seeing as Ian Stuart was 'murdered by scum' and all that. But then i remembered that The Doors reformed and Morrison has been worm-chow for 30 odd years now so it became a lot more plausible. Then i read it again and realised it didn't say Skrewdriver and now i feel highly silly.
I liked them
I'm not sure if they will do anything new, but I'll go see em. I think they were more popular in the States than here. Mezcalheads a top album.
no chance...
I know Chris Cooper and Graeme Naysmith and there's no chance of this happening - they have been approached previously to do festival slots! I think Ian Masters lives in Japan now?
