Bloc Party to release new single
Posted: 05 Oct '07, 13:21
The new Bloc Party single got its world premiere last night.
In the US, 'Flux' was beamed out across the continent on the Conan O'Brien show; over here, Zane Lowe's Radio One show broke it in.
The effort, to our ears, sounds like Editors-gone-trance - in a semi-good way. Faint praise...
Produced by Jacknife Lee, 'Flux' is out here on the 12th of November. After that, the band will play a quartet of large UK shows - details below.
December
12 Glasgow SECC
13 Manchester G-Mex
14 London Alexandra Palace
15 London Alexandra Palace
Hear 'Flux'? What'd you reckon?
CUE

LOVE IT LOVE IE LOVE IT!!!!!#]
WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!
BOOYAH!!!!!!
YEH COME ON!!!! CAN YOU FEEL IT!!!!????
I feel it.
I like it A LOT.
its is just
the worst bloc party song ever
i want old bloc back
i think it's
top notch.
me too
this sounds a bit bad.
however bloc party are still the best band on the earth.
A couple of points.
1. That guys jacket in that pic is fucking horrible.
2. I haven't heard the song but even if it's shit, DIS would till give it a glowing review.
Focker out...
for a band capable of good things
it doesnt really capture me.
from the live thing ive heard it doesnt sound so bad
the state of flux line isnt exactly inspiring though, and he does have previous.
oh and its STILL produced by jacknife lee
ominously.
i dont get it, did they actually think AWITC sounded good?
Utter tripe
What the fuck do you lot see in this band??
it's a decent song.
i hate it when people go on about wanting old bloc party back. they too obviously wanted to be gang of four. bands evolve. they're not oasis or hard-fi - rebranding the same fucking album year in year out. flux is better than you. period.
Amen...
... To that! ; ) .
yes
but A Weekend In The City was almost unmitigated bollocks.
almost, but not quite
i.e. lyrics = terrible, music = fantastic. i've not heard this, but i lost interest when i saw the words "Jacknife Lee"
yer.
I'm with that.
This band let me down
with the last album. Big time. Production was terrible.
Hmm
i thought they were dropping the disco beat thing? Matt Tong is an amazing drummer, they should make more of him.
