C'mon!

Is this even a question? Maybe you should have phrased it, "Best Dylan Cover After Hendrix's Watchtower?"

has to be

nancy grifith doing boots of spanish leather

truth

'this wheel's on fire' done by siouxsie and the banshees is also good

...

The Byrds - My Back Pages

that one's nice

jeff buckley doing i shall be released is pretty good.
another vote for eels.

Although...

That was (supposedly) actually written by Richie Havens. So it would be the best cover by Dylan...covered best.

Can't decide

But if you listen to the 'Hard Rain' live album, you'll hear Bob do some very bad cover versions of his own songs.

*terrible

mong

Hard Rain IS amazing...

Royter-Hatfoood i'm sorry but you're wrong, HARD RAIN is a great live album, maggies farm is immense with that guitar part at the start the way it suddenly all kicks in... even makes lay lady lay a decent sounding song.

Andrew Bird's version of Oh Sister is very very good.

Ha!

I like the fact that for ages you can hear someone shouting for Lay Lady Lay, before Bob murders it.

the song is lame...

so rather than murder it i think he gives it a bit of life.

I used to dislike Lay Lady Lay

But if you listen to it as part of the whole Nashville Skyline album, it actually grows on you. Plus: gotta love a bit of slide guitar.

Jeff Buckley

doing "Mama, You Been On My Mind"

I enjoy

Johnny boy doing subterranean homesick blues

can you

send me this i love mama you been on my mind

Got to be...

.... the front of Nashvile Skyline.

Dylan smiling down at you, taking off his hat and offering you his guitar:

'well son... if you think you can do any better go ahead.......'

Fuckin' A innit.

ha, nice flip reversal!

'good as i been to you' is funny cos he looks so rough on the cover. but a nice little album.
