made my top 5 live acts of all time. WOrth walking out of mogwai for. That having been said, not much was needed to make me walk out of mogwai- where was the loudness?
first time i'd seen sunn0))), and it was fucking awesome - obviously it was going to be loud, but fuck me .... messed my head up a bit to be honest, the volume and rather silly amounts of red wine and weed i'd consumed were not a good combination. and yeah mogwai were pants - anyone else meet julian cope, who was milling about the sunno))) stage dressed as like gay nazi biker?
i thought it was him, i turned to my mates and said 'is that julian cope?' and they all said...naah or one one occasion 'i'd know julian cope if i saw him'. then in the station the next day, they were reading the observer music monthly, which had a picture of the guy i'd pointed to with the words 'juliqan cope' clearly emblasoned underneath.
i would like to see sunn and thurston and oneida.
but i don't have a ticket! because of stupid portishead and their stupid trip hop rubbish that made me go :( to nightmare before christmas.
...the most raw time I've ever seen Sunn, phenominal. Attila was immense this time around. Although I have no idea what the hell that sack was about that he got in.
dont get it. when i saw them at sonar they were pretty shit, unless they had a bad day?
to me was just really boring minimalist, expected them to be building the music up to something only to be disappointed.
just one note hanging for ages and an underlying deep bassline pretty boring?
the first time they were pretty shit and the second time they were mindblowing. I think it varies. And it is partly down to the smoke and the robes and the silly slow motion guitar strumming etc. At least it is for me.
ive only seen them
twice, both in the last year or so. im not sure they do loudness anymore =(
they did last time i saw them...
oh, and i assume
youre talking about mogwai. Sunn0)))- bloody loud.
er yeah, mogwai.
or maybe ive only seen them in large venues/outside. i just dont know¬!
maybe
im just going deaf.
Mogwai were ridiculously dull
add an Ian Curtis impersonator and they could easily pass for Editors. Sunn 0)))) were IMMENSE. When did they finish? I had to leave at 2.25.
2:35 ish
they saluted the crowd with their guitars at the end.
yeah
