Scenesters, cheapskates, hark! For some reason there are more festivals in London this summer than there are chalky clods of pigeon shit. Which is all good n' all, but ultimately leaves you with either an empty wallet or a sense of having 'missed out' on something. Want a festival without having to tackle these quandaries?
The '1-2-3-4 Shoreditch' festival will debut in east London this Sunday 5th of August, pitching tent FREE four-fold in Shoreditch Park.

Festival organiser Lewis Rainsbury had this to say:
"If you like water, and you like cream, THIS IS THE FESTIVAL FOR YOU!"
Tasty.
but
why aren't any good bands playing?
Beacuse
they're all from Shoreditch
Tiger Force
though?
That's about it.
And there's a Queens of Utter Dross stage. yack.
That lineup couldn't actually be more Shoreditch
Totally
I'd like to go to this, purely to people watch. Because the line-up isn't really worth watching.
Fuckin hell
If you got every no name bandwagon jumping piece of shit going nowhere a cunt to you and your mates public school Shoreditch noncing band in the same place, this is pretty much it.
Nuke the Site from orbit...
its the only way to be sure
i cant believe feist isnt
playing this, it markets itself!
what a packet of cuntery
i agree with the nuking option. it's the only sane option and no court in the land would convict.
The fact that a stage is host by Pix
States the main case about how awful this is.
That magazine is hedonistic, artless toss.
my god
i thought this sounded ace, as is free.
however, they can suck my winky. or not.
I'm glad it is free.
could you imagine the size of the guestlist?
Hahaha
at least i know
where to avoid that weekend
Looks alright to me!
Selfish Cunt, Neils Children,Tiger Force.
Anyone know who the headliners are?
Har Mar Superstar
Is the headliner.
I haven't heard
of nearly any these bands.
Are you haterzzzz hatiiing from personal experience of a significant number of these bands here or is there just an anti-shoreditch element?
Of the bands
I've heard from that line-up, I would only like to see about three of them. And liking one of those left me in a severe minority in a debate recently :)
It amazes me that bands like Neils Children, The Paddingtons, Littl'ans, Dogs, fucking Trafalgar etc etc are actually still being booked by anyone, anywhere. It's 2007. Can we move on now please?!
Ah
so it's a chronic case of the ageing local talent brigade? I don't feel quite so bad for not having heard of many, then.
eugh
eugh eugh eugh. that line-up is vile.
...
Worst line-up I've ever seen.
And I only know half the names on that list.
...
That is like my idea of hell. A festival in Shoreditch with all that shit, surrounded by people you don't want brreathing the same air as you. Terrible, terrible.
...
Try living there.
hang on a minute
shy child, neils children, lightspeed champion, lost penguin, tigerforce?!
These are some fucking decent bands!
Who did you expect to be playing? The rolling fucking stones?!
Its a FREE festival, and I think it would be a nice thing for you guys to note that most of these bands are playing for FREE aswell as you guys getting to go to this for FREE!!
what the hell else do you have to do that day except complain about stuff?
Also alot of these bands are new, and alot of them havent got the privelage of being able to afford a booking agent yet so this is the only "festival" experience they get as a band!
Chill out! God you guys would complain about free hotdogs!
...
I'd complain about free hotdogs if they tasted of shit.
I'll be going.
fuck.....Lostpenguin are on the bill, so i might even be PLAYING. wooohoo.
looks good!
Fucking hell
What utter fucking wanks on this site. even if every single band and the whole fucking crowd were the most annoying of all the twats in twatty twat cuntland, you my dear poncey friends are a hundred times worse.
Its a free fucking festival with around 60 acts (and please dont try and kid yourself that you've heard every single one), with an unannouced headline act, and you're moaning like bitches. listen to yourselves for fucks sake!
Then again, the less sour-faced moody ugly arseholes that turn up the better. please stay in and have a wank instead.
shy child si really good
and bono must die is great fun and is not a shoreditch band at all!
Florence and the machine is great, i saw her live at the fly and i love her voice.
There's also lightspeed champion!
Some of those bands are pretty shit but well thats's because weekender records has its own stage!
Bit scything theloom
Who exactly are you anti?
....awaits backlash.
James
No Kylie?
I've not heard of most of them, but The Whip are excellent and they're from Manchester, not even close to Shoreditch, so POO YOU! you miserable ungrateful good-for-nothing sour-faced plops.
The Shoreditch Festival
has for many years, not really lived up to it's full potential.
I have a bit of fear and trepidation about it (mostly being blinded by neon) but I shall go as a local and will support local festi-vahls.
Velofax
Go see them. They are MINT.
I'll probably head to this. A Sunday afternoon, in August, with 60 bands, for free? Yes please.
well i want to go
ahh i want to go - i cant get enough of shy child at the moment and id like to see the paddingtons too, havent heard of many of the other bands but its always nice to see new music!
jus wondered if ne1 could help me, i know its free and all but do u still need tickets to get into the park? xx
