White Stripes to play one-off London date

Comedy duo The White Stripes are to bring their show to South London next week for one night only.

Meg and Jack White will be dropping by the Rivoli Ballroom in Brockley on Tuesday, presumably to preview songs from the imminent Icky Thump in what they describe as an "intimate and incredible setting".

Tickets for the gig go on sale on Monday (11 Jun) through Live Nation and Gigs and Tours and will be limited to two per person.

Icky Thump has been on heavy rotation this week at DiS HQ. Frankly, we haven't laughed so hard in a while. It's definitely a grower though - that much, along with Jack's ability to entertain, is undeniable.

Keep a watchful eye on DiS over the next few hours for a review.

me

too

I'm not bothered.

I don't like this band too much.

^^^

Thanks for letting us all know that.

A quick note

Right - this:

"I'm not bothered. I don't like this band too much"

is the type of thought that should stay in one's head.

I want to go too!

The logistics just don't work though :'(

ooh

It'll be completely full

of 'industry' and showbiz types. I doubt that regular fans would get within a mile of it.

Brockley

It's a very cool 50's ballroom, used in lots of film and video shoots. That's why. Much nicer than the Astoria I can tell you.

got me

a ticket :), great now back to work :(
