Disclaimer: No, we don't know how many of these shows have sold out already. We only got the dates yesterday.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah play a series of UK shows in November. The band, dribbled over by critics stateside, are to release their self-titled debut album internationally in early 2006, through an as yet unknown label (that's the official line, anyway; Pitchfork say otherwise).

The band have sold out shows in New York, Chicago, Boston, Montreal... the list goes on. Expect these shows to sell out (if they've not already) just like that.

November
15 Leeds Faversham (0870 0600 100, £5.00)
16 Cardiff Barfly (0870 907 0999, £5.00)
17 Manchester Music Box (0161 832 1111, £5.00)
19 Nottingham Stealth (Club NME, 0115 958 8484, £4.00/£3.00/£2.00)
20 Glasgow Stereo (08700 600 100, £6.00)
21 Liverpool Academy (0870 771 2000, £6.00)
22 London ULU (0870 400 0688, £7.00)

Tickets for the ULU show are also available online from here.

How much hype are this band getting right now?

Thats all i'm hearing about...

Theyre pretty shite too.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

The record is... good, actually.
Whether it's worth the hyperbole, I'm not so certain.
I'd wanna see 'em live before coming to a firm conclusion.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I agree, really over-rated, have no idea what the fuss is about, heard a bunch of songs and it just sounds like every other two-bit american indie band.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

You're so right...

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

through an as yet unknown label (annoucement will follow, shortly).

Er, it was announced yesterday on Pitchfork that they've signed to Wichita in the UK!

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

...and the tour went on sale at the start of last week

Leeeeet's do the time-waaarp agaaaain[/i]

Still haven't heard from them. Wank band name though.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

i think they're real growers. at first they seemed kind of unremarkable, but the songs are really well achieved, and that vocal is addictive.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

but... but...... AT LEAST WE KNOW HOW TO CLOSE HTML TAGS!!!

yeah, that's YOU told.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

What I've heard, I like. And I'll see them on the tour.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I like them. I think the album stands up on its own if you don't take on board any of the hype

Public Enemy were almost there, but I'd just say 'don't take the hype on board when listening to the album'

Or something

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

Um. Ha.

At least I closed it? :/

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I hate it when people don't know how to close tags, and it affects my posts making it look like I can't do them.

As a web programmer it is extreeeeeeemely embarassing.

Bastards

The name is shit - and bands like this just send out one signal - form your own label, get out there and obliterate mundania

And sorry for not being grateful for all this wonderful music - sometimes 'your new favourite band (or else)' is like getting a fold up bike for christmas instead of a BMX

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I WANT A FOLD UP BIKE SO MUCH.

SOOOOO MUUUCCCHHH.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I can't stop listening to the album, it is very very very good. Looking forward to seeing them in leeds.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

"The name is shit". Fucking constructive criticism - though you come across as a prick so no wonder. Do any of you high and mighty indie cool kids like bands, or just spend your time ripping the shit out of them. Is that what's cool these days, not liking any bands? Or maybe drainpipes. You can't even take a piss in those, they're so tight.

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

It will take you a while but eventually you will realise who the holier than thou types here are and that any band they slag off in their oh so clever style are probably worth checking out.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

I'd never listen to what people think. I go by my own opinion thanks. Oh so clever style? It just makes them look prickish, I rarely ever see someone say that's a good band, unless nobodies heard of them. It's so cool to slag off bands probably?

Re: Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

got tickets for the manchester gig, should be interesting to hear them live, i really like the stuff i've heard so far, although doesnt sound anywhere near as gripping as arcade fire or even wolf parade...

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

Excellent album.

Shit name, aye.

Applause, please: Clap Your Hands tour

Love the album, going to see then in Glasgow. Stop hatin' on them, yo.

Re; Applause, please; Clap Your Hands tour

Heard this lot on the radio tonight, and got hold of their album soon after. Enjoyed it after one listen and methinks it is a grower. Unspectacular arrangements, though tight with infectious vocals. Taking a leaf out of the Violent Femmes book...
