Yes he was. But that has nothing to with Sleater-Kinney. Corin Tucker and her husband, Lance Bangs (the guy who has directing credits on Let America Laugh)are friends with David Cross. Corin Tucker actually did an awesome guest spot on one of David Cross's projects, MTV2's Wonder Showzen, where she, Rick Springfield, and John Oates (and someone else whose name escapes me at the moment), sang a mock-We Are the World song about war.
David Cross is VERY great.
saw him once here in London and it translated just fine.
plus he's in the almost unbelievably incredible Arrested Development.
Eventually, buy them all. The Woods is their best album, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the others. I would probably buy Dig Me Out next if I were you. My personal favorites besides the Woods are the Hot Rock (the polar opposite of the Woods) and One Beat.
All Hands on the Bad One or Dig Me Out. Dig Me Out is the pinnacle of S-K phase 1 - the angry angular guitar phase - after which they started trying to broaden their palette a little, first by trying a different producer (with The Hot Rock, which IMHO didn't work v well), and then by trying different songwriting styles.
(actually I've only heard four of them but eh..) One Beat is my favourite, though. Combat Rock in particular, for reasons that remain a mystery to me..
whichever album has "you're no rock n roll fun" on it
'the woods' is actually my least favourite SK...
'dig me out' or 'call the doctor'.
'all hands on the bad one'?
that is a really good album but then i've not heard the woods so not sure how it compares
Why not work backwards?
One Beat is ace. But then I like everything they recorded, because I just *love* that voice.
I will always hate sleater Kinney
in solidarity with daveid cross
Um.
What?
ATP 2
The awesom david cross was more or less booed of my mentally ill sleater kinneys fans
*awesome

Don't blame the band

OH yeah
I sort of remember that. He wasn't that great, though. It felt like his humour didn't translate so well to this side of the Atlantic.
Also, to do that in front of an audience who had been drinking that long and pretty much waiting for S-K, was probably asking for trouble.

i dig me some SK too.
Hot Rock
it's less 'rawk' than The Woods, but it's sooooo good.
one beat
would be a good choice if only for oh!
but yeah get them all -
yeah
i agree. Get them all!
What to buy

One Beat or Dig Me Out
or Call the Doctor.
NO WAIT
Get them all!
Dig Me Out
first then get them all. None of them sound anything like The Woods though.
call the doctor
do it
I'd say
