Bit lame to say he should'nt be entitled to say what he thinks and lets be honest about it,theres some pretty daming evidence against the Bush administration towards 9/11. There are far more unanswered questions which they need to address.

Much as I love Muse and think Bellamy's a genius... he's really not proving it. Stick to the music, fella.

Was in the US for nearly a month. The weird thing is the amount of people with similar views to Matt Bellamy, and the amount of people (spesh young people) who were really down on their own country. I find it impossible to believe that any politician would knowingly stand by and let 3000 people die on their own soil... though the thing that most freaked me out on 9/11 was why the whole buildings collapsed because of explosions and air crashes on the topmost floors.
It perhaps is possible that the security services allowed a terrorist attack to get under the net. In order to keep the IRA believing it had no infiltrators the British security services had to let the occasional attack succeed...because otherwise the IRA would have known for sure that they had moles...and keep their fingers crossed that the particular plot was only a 'small' bomb or whatever.(perverse as that is) We may never know which of the IRA atrocities were the ones 'allowed' to happen... and applying the same logic to middle eastern terrorists...maybe it is conceivable that the neocons wanted to let the terrorists have a success in order to generate enough fear to unite the country behind them..and to start wars deliberately in order to generate lots of reconstruction and military revenue for US companies. If 9/11 was 'allowed' to happen, though, it would have only been because the US players involved were blind to the scale of carnage that was planned.
I think that we're probably closer to the mark believing our leaders to be guilty of colossal mistakes than believing them capable of willful evildoing.
It's still no reason to be down on America. It's still a great country, built on sound principles and populated by a decent bunch of people... I was wondering if Americans being down on their country was some stage on the way from a colonial to post-colonial mindset.

What a lot of cynisism from DiS readers! I'm currently reading "The New Pearl Harbor" by David Griffin and I can quite see why Matt holds this view.

but out of curiousity I watched the video that the dude above posted. I can now see where he's got his opinion from as the evidence is certainly very strong. I'd recommend people just to have a look. I went with the mentality that it would be some crazy outlandish theory and was ready to pan it, since watching it I feel a lot different. Check it out.

I've now read about how innacurate that film is, so it seems like a load of bollocks to me.

I wouldn't base your political views on Maddox and the South Park creators; comedians who aim to appeal to a mainstream demographic. Another thing, I've never seen Loose Change, and from what Matthew Bellamy states, neither has he. He's basing his views on Alex Jones' work, including the film Terror storm. I was skeptical about his claims at first (Alex Jones), but after actually bothering to read his articles, follow his sources, watch his films etc, I realised there was a lot of credibility to what he had to say. So don't instantly insult dissregard what Matthew Bellamy has to say, in an attack on free thinking, without doing some research.

For the simple reason that The US government regularly gets involved in foreign military adventures without needing any kind of excuse like this.

Strange that those who oppose Matt have nothing better to offer to counter his viewpoint than swearing and abuse. Come on then, offer a well written, factually researched response. I bet none of you have ever heard anything other than the lies and spin churned out by the likes of Fox news. THINK for yourselves, don't believe everything your government tells you. Do some research, who owns the mass media? why do the banks have such enormous power? check out what Bush's family got up to during WW2. Go on Google it - Prescott Bush & the nazi bankers, the Thule society... I DARE you to look into it. The facts are all there, they just won't ever be presented to you on the mass media. Bohemian Grove? Skull & Bones? WAKE UP - you are free... to do as THEY tell you. Big up Matt Bellamy for having the guts and the intellect to speak up. Unlike the brainwashed morons who can't even respond without swearing - obviously their limited vocabulary matches their lack of brain cells.
