More names for Leeds/Reading
Posted: 20 Apr '05, 11:24
Following the announcement that there are now only day tickets left for the Leeds leg of this year's Reading/Leeds festival, and that the Reading site has entirely sold out, the organisers have revealed a number of new bands...The Cooper Temple Clause are admitted to the NME/Radio One second stage as they showcase material from their third album. Also added are My Chemical Romance, The Subways, and the band who could be this year's Rasmus/50 cent, Fightstar. Will Charlie and the boys get a tentful of plastic bottles aimed at them? All these band will play Friday at Reading and Saturday in Leeds.
Hot Hot Heat, The Kills and the Others are also on the festival's second stage, and have been confirmed for appearances on the Saturday at Reading and the Sunday at Leeds.
We're most excited by the fact that the Alkaline Trio return on the Sunday at Reading and Friday at Leeds on the mainstage. Hopefully the band will be offering songs from their forthcoming fifth LP. British Sea Power, Maximo Park and Willy Mason are added to the second stage for those days as well.

That picture is class!
I'm kind of looking forward to Leeds a bit more now.-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
It's the small bands that usually make Reading worth the trip - Maximo is a good start.-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
I'm surprised this band are on Warp. I've just finished listening to a couple of their mp3s. They're very....OK.

The Killers are headlining the main stage?
Sweet Jesus...-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
no the killers are opening for the pixies ! -
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
Nah, that's a misprint/typo, Pixies are headlining friday at Reading. Killers are still too high on the bill for a band with only on album though, in my opinion.-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
*one album.-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
In fact, all the headliners have been missed off, Pixies, Foos, Iron Maiden.-
Re: More names for Leeds/Reading
Ah right, I thought it was strange that The Killers were headlining.

my finger are crossed for another repeat of last years 50 cent related anarchy aimed soley at my chemical romance...
quite possibly the most overated band in the world. how can they be so sad when there rolling in so much money from being, literally, everywhere you look.
