Another posthumous Hefner release..
Posted: 04 Oct '06, 18:20
Hefner have announced details of their posthumous live album, Maida Vale.
Originally recorded at the Maida Vale studios for the John Peel show in front of an invite-only audience, the special back in 2000 saw the indie quartet play as an eight-piece alongside a brass section, pedal steels, ukuleles and violin. They also enjoyed guest vocals from indie siren Amelia Fletcher, a regular Hefner collaborator. Part of the ten-song set found its way onto the limited edition CD of third album We Love The City. Already available from the Official Hefner Shop, Maida Vale will properly see the light of shop shelves on December 4. The full tracklisting is:
'Your Head To Your Toes'
'The Greater London Radio'
'Don't Flake Out on Me'
'Good Fruit'
'The Greedy Ugly People'
'The Cure For Evil'
'Don't Go'
'She Can’t Sleep No More'
'The Day That Thatcher Dies'
'The Sad Witch'
Maida Vale marks the fourth Hefner-related long player this year alone, after the Best Of, unreleased compilation Catfight and Hayman’s own solo effort Table For One.
