More names have been announced for this year's Wireless Festival, to be held in London's Hyde Park on the 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th of June.

Supergrass, Rufus Wainwright, The Bravery, Graham Coxon, Roots Manuva, Mylo and Soulwax have been added to a bill already featuring four diverse headliners: New Order, Basement Jaxx, Keane and Kasabian.

The Bravery, Graham Coxon and The Dears will play on the 24th (headlined by New Order), the latter outfit appearing on the XFM Stage.

Roots Manuva plays before Basement Jaxx on the 25th whilst Mylo takes to the smaller stage, and Supergrass will endeavor to steal Keane's thunder on the 29th. Rufus Wainwright and Secret Machines are also confirmed for the 29th.

Finally, Soulwax will appear as both a live band and as 2 Many DJs on the 30th (headliner: Kasabian).

More names will be announced shortly. When they are, we'll tell you.

Wireless Festival - more names announced

New Order day looks good, as does the Basment Jaxx one but it appears weird that Supergrass and Rufus Wainwright will be playing below Keane and finally the Kasabian day looks poor as.

Re: Wireless Festival - more names announced

but it appears weird that Supergrass and Rufus Wainwright will be playing below Keane

Why? Keane have sold more records recently than (probably) both of them combined.

Re: Wireless Festival - more names announced

that's true
but 5 songs a festival headline set do not make innit

Re: Wireless Festival - more names announced

I see the point you're making (although I do agree that a band with only 5 singles or whatever won't really be one of those fantastic life-affirming headline slots), but I'm fairly sure Supergrass, ten years and God knows how many albums into their career, have sold a good few more records than the amount of copies Hopes and Fears has shifted...

Re: Wireless Festival - more names announced

Oh dear. I really wanted the New Order day to be good.

Excited about the Dears - but looks like they are headlining the XFM tent so will be on at same time as New Order.

I'm desperate to go to a gig at Hyde Park and drink weak lager while having undercooked burgers - but NO WAY IN HELL am I going within a 2 mile radius of The Bravery.

Supergrass have a back catalogue/history, and are used to playing to big festival crowds. It is weird that Keane can headline above them (sales be damned!)
What will Keane do for their encore? An album medley?

Wireless Festival - more names announced

yeh but that fat fuck tom can do more with a hair flick and a 'mick hucknall-esque' pose than supergrass can in two albums.

Re: Wireless Festival - more names announced

no he can't. you're wrong.
there's more invention in "In It For The Money" and "Supergrass" than i'm confident Keane will ever manage.
