Teenage Fanclub return

Jangle heads rejoice! Scots legends Teenage Fanclub are to release their first album in five years. ‘Man Made’ will be out in May and is the first album released on the band’s own PeMa label. Teenage Fanclub made the record in Chicago with John McEntire (Tortoise) at his Soma Electronic Music Studios.
The band will also head out on a suitably celebrational May tour..

"Grand Prix" and "Bandwagonesque" are among my favourite records ever. And most of the others aren't too shabby either.-

I did love TFC dearly back in the early '90s. Going to see 'em again a year or two back was a big mistake, tho'. They have got so old, and so have I...
Norman had a haircut so atrocious he actually apologised for it, plus he was wearing a jumper that he should've been able to apologise for itself. I don't expect everyone to look like Interpol or The Bled or anything, but come on... -

Macrocosmica (Brendan O'Hare's "new" band) are the best thing to come out of TFC.
Highly recommended for all fans of Part Chimp on account of the loudness when they play. Not just volume, they're just BIG.

A thousand dads now have to toss up between painting the back bedroom or buying a ticket to see them play 'What You Do To Me' for the 76th time - I liked them at college (it was either that or the Wonderstuff) but really there is something of the tucked-in t-shirt in jeans about them now - maybe Im just not pleased enough with myself or maybe I played 'Thirteen' far too often
and let's face it that album was terribly turdlike -

additionally I recall seeing Brenden o Hare playing with Mogwai once and it suddenly struck me why he wasnt in the 'fannies anymore -

The last album was a bit hit and miss, but as with all Teenage Fanclub albums there was a couple of real gems on there. Songs For Northern Britain is a really underrated album, as good as Grand Prix in my opinion. There'll always be a place in my heart for the Fannies.-

Stumbled across songs from Northern Britain many years ago, subsequently got into Grand prix and Thirteen and never looked back. Songs from... is still the one that gets me every time. Cannie wait for the album... -

They are a most excellent band, anyone who thinks they sound like the Byrds hasnt listened to much of the Byrds stuff
