Artists: The Killers

Tickets for The Killers' November tour - click here for full dates - sold out this morning in just five minutes.

BBC 6Music reports that phone lines were jammed from 9am, and that all tickets for all ten dates were sold in no time at all.

Of course, a number of tickets have already hit eBay. The last DiS knew, pairs were on sale for as much as £200.

Although the tour's sold-out, there are enough gaps in The Killers' tour schedule to fit a few extra dates in here and there. The band's new album, Sam's Town, is released on October 2.

...

maximum points for the straight face but your grammar lets you down 9/10.

I can't work out who is being sarcastic and who isn't

Oh dear. Help me someone. Surely Towers of London are the best band in the last 20 years?

Towers Of London

Are THE Shit.... haha

They are the best band for the last 20 EARS.

The rest of the world's ears were listening to the sound of paint drying.

Killers Tickets

Today The Killers band went on sale. Besides their recent Blackpool gig - it was their first gig in 2 years in the UK. The tickets were sold out for all venues within the UK within 5 minutes. They went on sale at 9am and by 10am, there was at least 6 pages of The Killers tickets being sold on e-bay. Many going for up to £200 per pair. The face value was only about £23. I think this is grossly unfair for the real fans out there. I had my 2 work colleagues trying to help me get tickets on their computers and we had auto-redial on all our phones but yet failed to get through. If these tickets are being sold at such a high price, they are in fact stealing from the promoter, the band and most importantly, serious fans!! But yet the promoters do nothing about it!! All tickets issued state on the back that tickets are not to be resold or used for trade purposes but yet this is not enforced. Why bother in the first place?? Over the years this has become a serious touting business and I am sick of it. I go to anything up to 20 different gigs per year and don't see why I should pay sometimes up too 10 times over the face value for the ticket. I cannot explain how devasted I was at not getting any of these tickets. I am sure that there were thousands of other fans who missed out too. Something needs to be done about this. Does anyone have any ideas? Lets stand together and sort this out!!

Is that sarcastic too ?

Hello, this is The Killers guys? Surely the most over-rated shit band of the past few years. If your going to get your knickers in twist, please do so about something important. War maybe?

Or just go and watch some good bands at your local venue where you can easily get tickets.

"it was their first gig in 2 years in the UK."

well, thats just a lie. they played leeds/reading last year.

The first time I saw them...

was just over two years ago. At Northampton Soundhaus. So I doubt they haven't toured since then. They were doing Brixton about a year ago I think.

Touts..

They are killing the live music experience for the average fan and no longer can this practice of ripping people off be allowed to continue.

We've set up a site to try and make inroads against internet touting but we NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
So if you care about the live music community please come see us and add yourselves as friends.
We have loads of ideas so as soon as we have built up a community we'll start posting.
All ideas/mail gladly rec!

23 quid?????

23 quid face value to see the killers....thats something to get agitated about......

how can they justify that?

I agree

I’m totally with you, touts are killing off gigs for the real music fans. Just like yourself we were trying on the web and the phone with no luck. I even had a pre-sale link for a few tickets that went on sale on the Thursday, I got the link to work at 8.55, but by the time I submitted the form they had sold out.
I have to admit I was fortunate enough to see them in Blackpool, but I would have loved to see them at a more intimate venue like Rock City in Nottingham.
We started a myspace "We hate touts" user to spread the word on how much we dislike these rip off merchants.
First of all ebay should stop anyone making more than 10% on any event tickets... as sometimes there is a genuine reason for selling a ticket. Like you said they should not be resold.
They should also have a certain amount of tickets that go on sale the day of the concert which you have to go and cue up for... first come first serve. The genuine fans will cue and the genuine fans will therefore see the concert.
These ebay sellers are doing this because it really is easy money. We have to stop it.

here in Hull...

the ticket sale made it onto the local news. that's how few gigs we get!
