THE WASHDOWN is another of the new Lookout! bands giving the US underground music scene a needed shot in the arm. From Tampa, FL, they've crafted a truly original style of 60's-informed modern punk.

THE WASHDOWN mixes the youthful intensity of band like THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY and AT THE DRIVE IN with the swagger of THE STARLITE DESPERATION and JON SPENCER. Twangy, distorted guitar-driven punk'n'roll that's angular, intelligent and compelling.

THE WASHDOWN has already been the subject of a heated major label A&R frenzy on the strength of the band's live show and demo recordings alone, but Lookout! Records snatched them up for their debut self-titled release.
