Spawned from a multitude of styles, the dark and atmospheric music of sourhaze transcends boundaries of genre and draws from a diverse musical spectrum. Behind the music and art of the sourhaze project is Elliot Jay Stocks, a man pushing alternative music into dark new waters.
After early success in 2001 with the self-pressed debut album 'Bathed In Blue' and a minor distribution deal with Virgin, the sourhaze project soon developed a heavy web presence with elaborate and constantly evolving web sites. Sourhaze tracks appeared on compilations in 2001 and 2002, and in 2003, Elliot scored the soundtrack to the independent film The Ballad Of Seven Sundays (see www.jokerspack.com). Over the last year, he has been working with Neil Marsh of Mandala (www.withinMandala.com) on new sourhaze material, and 2004 sees the release of more new music in the form of an EP, a second album, and an online AV EP.
Influences: Nine Inch Nails, Vast, Isis, Tool, The Smashing Pumpkins, House Of Low Culture, Mandala, Muse, Pink Floyd...
