Slick Nick, having heard and opined on every punk band ever, decided that he could do better and penned a collection of gloriously catchy, riff-heavy sub-3-minute tunes in the mould of his favourite bands - The Ramones, The Queers, Screeching Weasel.
Rob and Matt were bandless after their previous band Exploding Sheep had imploded, heard Nick's demo and accepted the challenge of providing the rhythm section and, in Rob's case, some ludicrous rock poses.
And so it came to pass that on one May Monday, Sniper Wolf (briefly Steve and the Jerk-Offs, almost Over-Does-It Derek, never EVER Ammo Gang) loaded their gear into Rob's front room, and in a matter of hours had committed 6 tracks of punk-rock excellence to 4-track, which although lo-fi and rough around the edges perfectly capture the intent of the band. That is, to play catchy punk-pop and play it fast, with no fannying around.
Still in their early stages, Sniper Wolf continue to polish their existing collection of songs, augmented by Nick's never-ending slew of awesome new hook-laden material. Determined to play every possible show and release as much material as the world can accommodate, Sniper Wolf are here to bring punk to the masses in its purest form. And to wear caps whilst doing it.
