Psychonation
Bio
Band members names - role in the band:
Saul - Guitar, Programming, Lead Vocals
Zoe - Keyboards
Martin - Bass, Vocals
Brief Band History:
Saul approached Simon (ex-keyboardist) during the summer of 1994, and so Psychonation was born. After bringing out an initial 13 track demo called "Sykonashun", which showed the band to be intense and incredibly atmospheric, they were able to recruit Martin on the strength of it; primarily to help their live sound.
They made their live debut in March 1998. Since then they've released another 5 track demo called "One Word", containing updated versions of songs from "Sykonashun". So far they have really only played in Birmingham, but have landed some prestigious support slots, including Italian Goth Metallers 'Lacuna Coil', and Industrial supergroup 'The Damage Manual'. Kerrang! have said "The lack of a drummer does not stop Psychonation making an impact. The stabbing samples simply add to the trio's studied cool, branding them somewhere between Fear Factory and Nine Inch Nails."
The group are currently working on new material with a view to recording in the near future, and are in the process of sorting out some gigs, a bit further afield.
Influences:
Tool, NIN, 16 Volt, Skinny Puppy
Life changing albums?
Saul - 'Bat Out Of Hell' by Meatloaf. The first album I remember liking ( I was only a youngster!)
Simon - 'Appetite For Destruction' by GnR. It was the only album I listened to for months, literally morning, noon and night.
Martin - 'So Far, So Good, So What...', Megadeth. Blew me away when I first heard it in the late eighties. It changed my perspective on music.
