Psycho A Go Go
Bio
Band Name:
Psycho A Go-Go
Band member(s) names / role in the band:
Jonny A Go-Go - Vocals:
What can be said about Johnny: visionary or madman? Perhaps visionary madman? The kind of frontman that mothers warn their daughters about!
Robb A Go-Go - Bass:
Provides the funky-assed licks that complete the Psycho sound. A real Stray Cat Strutter!
Psycho G - Guitar:
G lives on a strict diet of rockin' and rollin', and sounds like Carl Perkins being molested by Black Sabbath in a bleak churchyard.
*We're between drummers at the moment, but we've auditioning at the monment and we think we've found our man...
Describe your band's sound for someone who hasn't heard you:
Psycho A Go-Go cradle the rotting body of Elvis and swear he will be avenged, they spit in the eye of every rockstar who prides money over integrity, they regard the swollen bloated pus-filled mass of the pop-world with utter disdain and hatred, and cry "How can this be? Who has undermined this generation's revolution with this false posturing and lies?" Who, indeed…
But such answers will have to wait, for the importance lies not in laying the blame but in solving the problem. With this aim, Psycho a Go-Go single-handedly resurrect the forgotten values of music and entertainment, sharp-suited cat-clothed necromancers of rocknroll! With a flourish, they invoke the spirits of Eddie Cochran and Joey Ramone, and instigate a get-together with Joe Strummer and Ginger Wildheart, via the power of GUITAR, DRUMS, BASS, and VOICE. These are their righteous weapons, indeed, the most righteous of all weapons. Add to their arsenal the divine powers of determination, aggression, integrity and soul, and the result is truly awesome to behold. To list influences is spurious and pointless, detracting from the band's ability to tap into THE NOW SOUND. Kill the past! There are reference points however, these would be The Cramps, The Clash, Goldblade, The Sex Pistols, Motorhead, Guitar Wolf, The Wildhearts, Silver Ginger 5, The Ramones, The Icarus Line, The Who, Rocket From The Crypt, Groop Dogdrill, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Which album(s) changed your life and why?
Guns'n'Roses: Appetite for Destruction - All that is good and bad in rock music distilled into one nihilistc explosion.
The Wildhearts: Earth Vs... - The ultimate combination of heaviness and poppiness = rock'n'roll and lyrical genius
The Clash: London Calling - Inspiring mythology and intelligence while still still raging against the machine.

What are your plans for the future?
Psycho're on tour in June, after which we'll be recording the demos for our debut album. There are also plans afoot for further touring in September.
Other things worth mentioning:
Over the last year, Psycho a Go-Go have been signed by Changes One and released their second EP, 'Sin City', through this label. It has received international release, and is selling well all over the world, from the UK to USA to Japan. They have also played alongside bands such as their long-time heroes The Wildhearts, as well as Antiproduct, Plan A, Dog Toffee and The Chasers at various venues all over the UK. Psycho a Go-Go have also undertaken numerous UK tours which have allowed them to spread their message, as well as their fanbase, on a much larger scale. Most recently they toured in support of the Wildhearts. Following the forthcoming release of new Psycho material on compilations for Changes One and Infernal Records, the band will be concentrating on putting together their debut album…
