Proof Of Planes comprises five individuals from the England area; chunky singer and guitarist Nick Parker, sophisticated guitarist and singer Mark Stidson, implausibly cute bassist Lucas Stidson, hirsute drummer Mike Simpson and the ever-reliable beat-box Bishop (who, come to think of it, is probably from Japan).
Proof Of Planes' music is not easy to categorise. Not because we think we are the next big genre-breaking phenomenon, but simply because we can't be bothered to think of any clichéd adjectives to describe what we do. In an attempt to give some idea of our sound however, two of us grew up listening to the raucous guitar noise of The Pixies, while the other three take their inspiration from veteran pop stalwarts New Order.
Formed in early 2005 they have already shared the bill with Bright Eyes, The Cooper Temple Clause, Electric Soft Parade and The Bandits, to name but a few, and have been involved in a few of Fierce Panda's Club Fandango showcases in the Dublin Castle and The Metro, London.
