Kansas Burns are a four-piece band based in Newcastle who currently play in and around the North East. Their debut EP has been received with an outstanding response resulting in interviews and airplay on local radio as well as national magazine and fanzine reviews.
Their music has been compared to the likes of:
- ˜The Very Best of early Placebo"
- My Vitriol
- The Editors
Although relatively new to the music scene Kansas Burns have already been tipped to be a band to look out for in 2008. Friends and coursemates Gram Bayne and Jon Aspinall began writing songs together at the beginning of summer 2006. They quickly realised that their ideas had potential so decided to look for new members. By July, George Feeney, an old friend and ex-bandmate (Four Second Fuse) of Gram's, was practising with them everyday in their university's studio and their first songs were completed. All that was now missing was a drummer.
Pete Hepple had played in a band with George (The Roulettes), so he was asked to record a few drum parts for early demos. The four gelled extremely quickly, and Pete was asked to become a full time member, as well as Fragglehead (percussion) and Kansas Burns was born.
