Damon Albarn

Damon Albarn is the lead singer of Blur, and has been the driving creative force behind their five Number One albums. In 2000 he founded the experimental cartoon group Gorillaz, whilst also continuing work on his sporadic solo projects. In '99, Albarn collaborated with Michael Nyman on the soundtrack to the movie Ravenous, following this with a second score, 101 Reykjavik, in 2001. After taking time out to see the world, Albarn decided to take on a project titled Mali Music, a collaboration with several Malian musicians, which was released in 2002.
