Gavin Clark: Guitar/Vocals. Ted Barnes: Guitar/Keyboards. Ali Friend: Bass/Keyboards. Clayhill formed in 2001. Ali's much-missed band Red Snapper had split, and he and Ted were working with Beth Orton. Ted was also working on his solo album, ‘Short Scenes’, and was searching for vocalists. He'd wanted to work with former Sunhouse singer Gavin Clark for at least three years, but, as Ted explains, 'for some reason, it didn't happen. Then I wrote a tune called Glass Harmonica that I knew would so suit Gavin's voice.'
